Greeting Folks, ladies,and non folks.

Heading down to Nelson for a couple days on a work assignment, figured I would take the family along so now I need to sort our accommodation.

Can anyone recommend any motels that have 2 bedroom family units, aren't scum like and have good value for money?

Basically I want as cheap as possible without the wife spewing on me for being a tight bastard.

The going rate is around $100 per night for a 2 bed studio. $135 gets you something a great deal better. Ibis have been doing midweek $99 specials. If you want an extra bedroom, then it will cost a bit more. Good luck.

Cheers, so far the cheapest family unit I have found is $220 a night, Really needs to be 2 bedroom as the kids are terrors....

Can't seem to find any information about an Ibis hotel in Nelson

Not sure if the guys AA motel (Ajax Ave) have family units, I believe they do. I've stayed with them the last couple of trips to Nelson (when family beds are all booked that is). Really good guys.

How close to Nelson?

Is Lower Moutere (Motueka) too far from where you need to be?

i normally stay in tahunanui which is on outskirt on nelson. still pretty close to town tho since nelson is small

about ten of us stayed at footprints in the sand a couple of weeks ago. not sure if they have family rooms. i know they have studio rooms and a 14 bed dorm so they probably do have something in between. google for the website

before that i stayed in the place next door cant remember what its called tho. that had doublel bed and single bed in one room. may have family units - can find the name if u r interested

down t he road further there was an old school motel that was quite cheap if u do have to find a place with 2 rooms. again i could try and find out the name

i normally use the AA guides to find something suitable

Tahuna Beach Holiday park's self contained cabins are real nice for what you pay. Stayed there a few times now and will again.

Yep - this is the place I'd highly recommend to anyone. Very clean, friendly and reasonably priced.

Take a bmx or jump bike as there is an AWSOME dirt jump section and bmx track to play around on!
Everytime I go I tell myself that I must take my DH bike to go have a play :shifty:

Or at least it will keep the kids busy for a while...:chase:
