Looking for somewhere (preferably in the Auckland area) to buy a decent folding ramp for loading the bike- . I'm wanting something that will take up to 400Kgs- the ones on Trademe take about half that. Suggestions welcome.

There are odd times when it will be bike plus rider. 300Kg's may do the trick, as long as I stay away from the pies.

I don't know of a proprietary ramp but give Pinto trailers a call, the owner, Ian, is a bike rider and may be able to help out. He is on Barrys Point road.

Thanks for the suggestions. The ones on Trademe that Patch pointed out may in fact be 270Kgs each. A couple of the mail-order places have Fly racing ramps that are rated at 340Kgs.

Had a thought about this....the ramps are rated for say 300kgs assuming that each end is on the ground / ute and the middle is unsupported, why not get a timber brace you can stick under the centre when you use it. Can't be hard to knock up something that can be carted around with the ramp?

Good idea. Actually, an axle stand would do the job nicely.

none of these are going to fail if you put 400kgs over each ramp, unless you use them as a trampoline in the process.
Unless you plan on parking your weight in the middle of said ramp for a few hours, they'll be more than adequate enough.
Fence palings make good ramps too @ $3.69ea
