View Full Version : Paper doesn't grow on trees!
Sully One

Well apparently it is MADE of trees but you can't get a tree that grows ready to draw on paper sheets - so I am told!
My name is SullyOne and I am an avid drawer.
When I say avid I mean I draw anywhere up to 70-100 drawings a day. That's between home time and school of course. Anyway mum says that I am not 'discerning enough' when I draw and that the hundreds of $2 shop sketch pads and reams of computer paper don't last near long enough to keep up with my rate of fervent creation.
Naturally I of course think she is squashing my creative spirit by not supplying me with an endless supply of suitable drawing paper.
Anyway - Given that I am not keen to slow the frequency with which I am 'taken to draw' I'm just going to throw it out there THAT any Welly based peeps that might be in posession of unwanted paper...I can help you with that and would be more than happy to take it off your hands :shifty:
Just putting it out there

We have heaps of paper in SRA3 size with stuff™ on one side. You are welcome to it. As I only have a motorcycle for transport you will have to arrange for it to be picked up from my work. May I suggest #1?

Because you silly grown up it isn't the same and is not half as fun as the mess he can make with pen and paper or paints or whatever he so chooses.
If he isn't getting dirty or making a mess he figures what's the point?
AND he likes to be able to lay his hands on his drawings.
Don't tell him but when he goes to sleep sometimes I burn some of the old stuff to make space :shifty:

just dont do like i did and use school books. boy, you shoulda seen my maths books! something 5 pages of work, and the rest was all drawings, lmfao.
good luck, young sully! keep up the art... you could go a long way, though i do second trying computer programs. i think i could have been an artist for disney, but had i succeeded, it would have been a limited career due to computer graphics.

This may sound silly, but
old rolls of wall paper are good for what you need.
good heavy paper, sometimes empossed with patterns,
they are quite often available at paint and paper shops as odd rolls for a few cents.
Even asking the local painter, paper hangers for their "odd" rolls
could be a source of supply to feed your desire

thats a good idea, and then you could draw "wide screen" lmfao.

Hi kid,
Just nick some chalk from school, and draw on the road.
Heaps of kids do that, and then move onto tagging fences, statues, rail wagons etc.
Ya got creative talent. let the commuters see it:msn-wink:

Now that all sounds like a great plan!
I was looking forward to drawing today but aunty Str8 and unkie Koba left the paper at home on their table!
I have been forced to discover the beauty that is MSPaint  I can now produce perfect circles and rectangles without all the wasted paper. It isn't as fun though

check out youtube for videos of things drawn in paint. its amazing what can be created with some patience and talent.
i considered paint more of a challenge than drawing on paper. when i was in my teens, i had mastered the lion king characters on paper, but only once was i able to get a "perfect" image in paint. would have been easier with a tablet and stylus i think, but they didnt exist, lol.
