The forecast in the ODT this morning had the statement: "showers falling as snow". Interesting, I'd never heard this in a forecast before. True it was! Snow showers, light and not settling snow fell through to about 1300hrs. Was cold and then the 'showers' fell as rain for a while!
About 0930 hrs I had to pop down town on the scooter commuter getting a frozen bum from these "showers falling as snow" which had frozen on the scotter seat. Yeah! For quality winter bike gloves which were up to ...

Down here in the south yesterday was the second day (of an average 4) that I chose not to use the scooter to get to work. A shower of rain fell at around 0500hrs and froze on the roads.
This morning the 5cm of snow which fell over-night has frozen and very little traffic is moving about on any of the roads.
Needless to say the wee-strom and the scooter remain in the garage. Too cold to apply that space age plastic polish, so a day inside by the fire is planned. Cheers.

Back in Dunners today, chokeing my way down Cavvie Valley Rd and noticed the postie blatting down the lefthand footpath at a fair pace from mail box to mailbox, faster than I was going! Honda 110 I guess, I couldn't actually see it because of the panniers and mail bag. Rough drive ways and lumpy ashphalt this rider was a pro. Doen't know how she/he held onto the next group of letters to deliver. Green dayglo jacket pro motorcycle rider. Go for it. The mail must get through. Good on ya! ...

Stuck a quick write up into the gear rthread about my new 'Ear Moulds'. Felt good!
Been a member of 'AA' (the car one) so long they give me a 10% discount! Some of their policies do piss me off!
Twelve months ago they were bagging bikes as a dangerous nusiance on the road. Today they are giving away Piaggio scooters in their loyalty card give away system. Pity I still need their road side services from time to time.

Quick trip through to Dunners in Mary's CRV. Few bikes on the road. Noted a cruiser coming off the Sthn motorway at Green Island with the wind blowing up his trousers! Shoes, not boots. With the bent leg seating position a fair bit of skin was exposed. Wouldn't like to travel that way myself. Very sunny, but cold and promising a frost by 3.30pm! Cheers.

After the mild, wet Brass Monkey last weekend the Vstrom's sulking in the garge and the snows only half melted off the deck. No riding today, didn't even ride the scooter to work yesterday. Snow and black ice makes this one of the four days on average I don't ride to work! With three weeks before I head of for two weeks of work related riding in Aussie I'm washing the riding gear and stocking up the yunka to get things dried.
