Well I am still here.
Though I originally joined Kiwibiker in 2004 (started riding in 2006) I went walk-about in early 2009. Since I returned to Kiwibiker in
May 2009 there have been numerous events and activities I have participated in:

At the Wednesday night rides over the recent years I too have witnessed changes in riding attitudes, and sadly very sadly perhaps a group mentality culture that can be pervasive and subtly intimidating - not intimidating by any particular individual/s but rather just the pure social dynamic.

On another sad point, there have been quite a number of motorcylist fatalities, and indeed since the November ACC protest ride this has brought home the fact that serious injury and death are ...

A Genuine Dutch Auction – Kawasaki 250R

I have no hesitation in stepping back from riding this winter 2010, and who knows spring may bring another surprise. In the meantime I'm very sincere in saying that the 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R is an excellent bike and highly recommended as a daily commute bike and also a joy for that short ride over the hill to the Wairarapa for a coffee.

For those of you that know me, my riding history is short as I commenced riding as recently as May 2006. Shortly after starting to ride there was a monumental mind shift in my attitude when my mentor of six months was killed riding his motorcycle.

Over the recent years The Wednesday Night Cruisie Ride has changed and so I pray that his legacy can in some way continue.

After my initial 12mth period I was selected to remain behind for officer pre-requisite studies. I wanted to be a navy pilot, well all teenagers did - didn't they...unfortunately my vision was not up to standard and this made me ineligible for Seaman Officer training as well, couldn't wear glasses on the bridge ...

ACC is but a thorn in the side of progress. Of itself, philosophically it is a nappy, in the real world it is a crutch. There are better ways of providing compensation, it is up to the people of the day, not yesterday, to create a system.
