You get used to the indicators very quickly, and then you realise how much sense they make. I dont have any trouble switching back to normal indicators. Re: Fuel consumption, did you reset it before you left? Because if you dont manually reset it, it'll of course be an average consumption since it was last reset, which could have been 10,000km ago! Corner entry: A lot of people subconsciously have their inputs tuned to the expectation of the steering geometry steeping as the front is loaded up under decelleration. The lack of dive can confuse people initially and make it feel like it's understeering or standing up. There's a simple solution to this, it's called - 'You're doing it wrong.'
Nice detailed review. Enjoyed reading it thanks.
Nice write up Dude.I use my teeth topull the RAin Off cord, pushing the toggle with the spare hand /FONT]
No incidents on Thursday... promptly got a flat tyre on Saturday Still... better than middle of nowhere in the middle of the night (except during the trip I was carrying a puncture repair kit... not so for around town)...
Still a giddy newbie feeling when it comes to a ride huh? Sounds like you've got that pootlin' bug that afflicts some bikers to do as much riding anytime, anywhere! And no incidents for you? Amazing! I guess that means you are settling down in your old age! And you must be bored, writing up a trip down to Welly and back!
Wait, whenever either of us says that statement, things ALWAYS happens!
Whats the worst that could happen? Just follow me!
You make it sound so sedate! I'm impressed nothing out of the unusual which is usual for you happened! Must get around to doing some of those roads you mentioned, I often wondered where they lead to ... glad you went through them first!
Junction road & surroundng areas are interesting to say the least, having been through there on the Blackbird it makes hard work of the situation particularly when you encounter locals out on their quads !! they dont slow down for anything..... I look forward to the next installment of " GREMLIN GOES ..... "
No... I've only ever had one... that was your fault... Only thing I have found is that cars drive too fast on the gravel roads in the country... don't expect anyone to be there...
Just another gremlin day/night out ... You're losing your touch young fella me lad - no cornfields with angry farmers this time?
Wellington and a cage... or Russell and a bike... Wow, thats a really tough one Told you the ride would be good.
Excellent way to finish off a ride, by more riding! It would make me feel jealous, but fortunately I have done those roads as well ... just not recently Keep up the good writing and we'll make an author of you yet!
Respect to my man Gremlin, he's doing the hard yards - even doing some times and distances I would need training for myself! As for Katie leaving more bits over NZ ... I'm not really surprised at this stage, one day I swear your whole back end will drop off and you won't notice it until you get to your next fuel stop or notice the reserve light coming on faster than expected! Nice write ups, you've come a long way from the 3 - 5 words you used to post!
Tsk tsk, the usual malarkey and shennanigans on a gremlin accompanied foray. Glad you kept it all rubber side down on that gravel patch - all that practice you been doing has its benefits! Yeup, rather jealous reading this in hindsight - I was down in Wellywood via cage with my better half. Though I daresay I probably could have swung riding with her with you guys if we stayed overnight in Russell or something like that!
The usual hogwash and hornswiggle from the loon gremlin. Good to see you doing what you do best - scaring the local inhabitants with your unique brand of motorbiking.

added a couple of panoramic shots as well... playing with my new camera
Hey Hawkeye, good to meet ya then. Yep, definitely ride at your own pace. You can't finish long rides in half an hour, but you can sure end your day within half an hour... Yeah KoroJ, 35 odd hours, and I was still keen to play through Piecock Hill, so its a reasonably good sign. I've attached some of the basic shots from the day, for part 2 I'll upload some of the panoramic shots I took on SH54.
