  1. gijoe1313 and DONOR go on a Road Trip! Part the One

Well my fine ladles and jellyspoons, it is with a mixture of trepidation and exhilaration that I actually post up something! This has been a long while due to the onerous exertions of reality (yah! boo! hiss! )

Anyhow the meat of the matter is that my friend Greentea has been pining for her own bike to call her own, to love, to throw hard earned cash and to call it by it's own name. The tale of this saga begins last Friday past (20th Aug) when she piped up she wanted a bike ...
  2. Sunday 25th April : Wow, cruisy group ride ...

Thanks to the entreaties of a long lost friend who has started to reclaim his mantle as a biker, I managed to get out on a bike ride today. Accompanied by a few stalwarts I know, we helped a little gaggle of bikes along safely along the Whitford-Maraetai loop.

We had noonses at Clevedon and a bit of a chin-wag. The hunuas beckoned and we pootled off at a sedate and merry pace. One of our number suddenly remembered an engagement with work and promptly beetled off to make it!

  3. Tues 2nd March : lil'ol'hornet bop bop bopping along ...

Well, the lil'ol'hornet fired up first time today, been a wee while since I last rode him around and I thought the short local jaunt to my parent's fish and chip shop would be perfect for it to get out and about.

After all, those clever and industrious japanese designers at Honda did think that would be a neat thing to do. Have a wee runabout chewfiddy screaming along the narrow roads of the local cho (district) and buzzing to the railway station or the Dawsons/7-11 store.

  4. Well I gone and done it now ...

Tonight, I have with some small fanfare and trepidation, have put my reputation and money where my mouth is ... I went and announced to the whole of the KB world that Jeaves and I have opened our own online bike parts store. With quality bike parts sourced from the land of the rising sun.

It was two years ago that over the re-wiring of my lil'ol'hornet's lights (for what seemed like the umpteenth time) that Jeaves and I were doing the classic Kiwi moan. "Why can't we get the cool ...

  5. Mon 15th Feb : Hornet Swarm to the back blocks

Well, another Monday finds yours truly riding to the usual rendezvous outside Auckland Public Library. Oddly enough, I am usually the first to be awaiting others to arrive, usually snacking on a frozen confectionary made in some dubious asiatic clime. This time, due to commitments and me being in several places at the same time, I arrived nearer to the end of the meeting time before departure.

Still, I managed to consume an ice cream treat that resembled a watermelon slice (which, ...
  6. Sunday 14th Feb : A catch-up of a cornucopia of riding remembrances

Harken to thee all once again my fine body of diligent and doting readers. I have a tale filled with fire and fury, signifying nothing (but possibly a two stroke ring of noise), but all to do with the foolish follies and foibles of your lamentable and most lambasted provender of sordid biking tales.

In the interim of the time passed, since last I quoted my less-than-regaling stories of being a harried user of two wheeled contrivances, I have found myself in all sorts of mundane and ...
  7. Mon 11th : Hornet Night City Swarming

Well, the day started as normally as I would expect, I got up, had breakfast and contemplated about what indulgences I could get up to. As it turns out, I remembered to go to Sylvia park to purchase two novels from my favourite cash draining locality. From there, it was but an easy decision to head off to the wild west and peruse some of the roads and locations.

I wandered willy-nilly around the back blocks and hills of the Waitakeres. I went around to Piha and through to Karekare. ...
  8. Sat 9th : Piggy in the middle

A most welcoming and heartfelt felicitation to you dear reader, this time a most quick missive that may repeat some details from previously, but rest assured, there is a small momentary twist in the tale.

I found myself in the afternoon with a small surfeit of time to myself after I had cleared my schedule of interruptions. Off to Maraetai once again to plunder the schools of small baitfish for more fishing tomorrow. All went well and in a short two hours or so I had taken 30 or so ...
