A delve into the twisted pysche that makes up the avatar bearing the Hornet.

  1. Fri 8th : Massacre at Maraetai

Salutations and hail to thee my personable reader, I am back again with yet another interminable rendition of my eclectic ways of using my bike at any excuse.

I must say it was not a very big riding day for me, nor was there much in my day except to enjoy the delivery of a package I had ordered from the internet. 1 day sales is a most disarming site that induces you to willy-nilly open your wallet and purchase the delightful products on offer.

In this case, I put in ...
  2. Thur 7th : Gremlin by name, gremlin by nature - what's in a name?

Yet again my fine person of quality that peruses the personal volumes of memoirs that make up the stock within KiwiBiker, I bid you welcome and I hope you are well rested. I find the time to wax lyrical on my rides and I do so appreciate the time and effort that you deign to actually dabble on my diadems of biking discernment.

This day once again found me at odd sorts, I had already commenced a full day of housebound chores involving the clearance of unwanted vegetative matter from ...
  3. Wed 6th : I don't think we're in Kansas anymore TOTO!

Well, the day started quite slowly, I was mooching around the demesne as you do wondering what on earth to do with my day. I was content to putter around on the computer doing all sorts of mundane tasks such as emailing, playing online browser games, surfing KB and chatting away to people on MSN.

Up pops TOTO who is in the mood for a ride, but not with any particular destination decided upon. Of course he asks me and I blithely blurt out that a Coro loop would be just the ticket for ...
  4. Tue 5th : Doing the new 'Tron dance

Well this day found me doing very much of nothing, being an insouciant biker, I rode my velocity contraption towards the usual pootling place of Maraetai, Whitford and towards Botany Honda. As my Big Ol'Hornet has been outfitted with a Touring Scottoiler (with twin head injectors naturally), it behooves me that it does require filling with decayed dinosaur matter every so often.

In the days of yore past, I used to go through my little ritual every 500km or so to spray lubricant onto ...

  5. Monday 4th : Failure to spend money on biking gear

Now please I ask for your forbearance and patience in regards to my musings for Monday, in hindsight, which is always perfect and wonderful, I would have done things scantly different. As those who know me, I have a predilection for being able to use any pretext, no matter how flimsy as an excuse to go ride my bike.

I am reminded of an old samurai/ronin apocryphal story where a lone samurai (I shall dispense with the ronin appellation since samurai evokes a much more epic sentiment) ...
  6. Sunday 3rd : Taking Big Ol'Hornet fishing

Well dear reader, I do so hope today finds you hale and hearty and with all your faculties in reasonable shape from the festivities of a new(ish) year now. This particular day was of no special importance, but I had arranged for a nice asian lass to pillion on my Big Ol'Hornet to partake in another passion involving the lovely scenery and localities that liberally sprinkle our fair and green lands.

I awoke with the morning chorus of the aviary crew that inhabits our trees and the ...

  7. Sat 2nd of 2010 : Finally riding a bike again!

Well, my most valued and esteemed reader, this marking of chronological units has resulted in yours truly, abandoning his most valued and trusted mechanical steed! The run up to New Year resulted in my family all departing to northern climes, through the hills, dales, valleys, undulations and other thoroughfares to ensconce in the lap of Omapere.

My brother had rented a lovely bach by the sea from where we could recline and recluse and generally be in the holiday spirit. Feel my frustration ...

  8. Sat 26th : Whucking off to Whanganui to meet the KB Whanau

Well it has been a wee whiles my dear reader where I have made an entry into my daily riding log.

Forgive my trespass as an itinerant mendicant of motorisation!

After the tremulous discord that is known as Christmas, the pall of the seasons festivities had passed as a dark cloud of rain upon a lovely patch of road you are riding.

Boxing day I was free to embark on anything I cared to do after the repast of leftovers was consumed at lunch. I geared up, ...
