I was wondering how many hardy riders would turn up. My bet is you didn't see any other riders out on the hill - what is takes to be a Ulysses?

I've had; Rears Battlax 3800; Conti RA 9550; PR2 12260; PR 13183; Storms 11057, 9800, 13275 9550 & 11053 Fronts Battlax 13350; PR2 18090; Z6 13232; Storms 17510, 14163 & 15605 Some were short termed due to long rides coming up and a couple with punctures causing excessive wear.
Enjoyable read Koro. What milage did you get out of those tyres in total ? I am sitting at almost 14,500 on the tyres that I used on the TT 2000 a set of Pilot Road 2's Cheers Jim
Rode the " Whanganui River Road " early March, awesome views great road until hitting the gravel. This started sth of Jeresulam & lasted most of the way to Pipiriki then there was a mix of sealed unsealed for @ 12-13kms then sealed into Raetihi... I don't think I'd do it again on the Blackbird ( temp was getting up there !! ) but certainly worth the ride with great weather to boot
Twas a good ride and thats a good write up and I just paid my penalty for having a friendly conversation at Kumara....$120
Really enjoy reading about your jaunts across the country. I'm a Kiwi and have been living in London the past few years, picked up my licence last year - and boy does reading your blog make me home sick! I now really appreciate the roads back in NZ and can't wait to do the lot on two wheels. I'll be back, next year.. next year!
Awesome write-up John. Man it was fun...
Thanks John your tempting me now .....

Hey KoroJ, that is a great write up. Good on you for taking the time... Cheers Emlyn
Another great write up, seemed you knew a few of the local cops down there they all seemed to flash and wave at you
Awesome write up Koro, was nice getting a perspective from doing the West route first
Thanks for sharing. Yes the Takaka hill is awesome. Popped that cherry on Tuesday....will be returning again and again. Such a nice smooth surface and those corners....playground for Genie. glad you had such a fantastic weekend, back to reality.
Nice write up, It's good to hear about others enjoying the roads in my back yard, Takaka hill's always good for a quick fang after work. The Dreaded rider would be "whatastoner" here on K.B; Real nice A-twin he rides too
Nice one John. Excellent write up! If you want to know what the gold flyer trophy looks like there are 2 of them at our place! Yes Aly did it too! There were certtainly no hour long stops on our ride! See you next year? AD
