Hi John, I was one of the two bikes that retired, the knee replacement kept going north and I headed south from Ratahei. It was my first attempt at such a long ride in one day, next time I'll fit a windscreen to my cruiser. Thanks to Jeff and Christine for a great day.

No worries about loosing me: it was my bad management / luck: hell, I normally get 330+ out of a tank, I ran out at 270 and that included 1/2l from the extra reserve under the seat.

Anyway... who would want to do a GC and not have a good story to tell ;-)

Enjoyed the ride John, and my first time up to the windmills. Quite spectacular views of the jaggie pointed mountains in the distance. Thank you.

Well done John... Good to see you have finally caught up! I will be interested to see how the Z6 goes. Not looking forward to that "tank slapper" though!

Three of your high points also apply to me and also the one terrible low point. Regarding the cost of riding - yep it ain't cheap but I reckon it's an investment in maintaining ya sanity!

All the best for the New Year John and see ya out on the road soon!

Well done on an excellent piece of organisation John. I certainly enjoyed the day very much and was sorry to hear the sad news on my arrival at the PWMC at about 2100. Awesome effort form Ron and Jim too. Thanks Guys.

My man and lover ... he was so special .. and he looked forward to this ride all year ... I am happy for a couple of things ... he died doing what he loved .. and he died with people surrounding him ... I am just so very thankful for that. You know .. its right .. we discussed the risks of riding .. and its something that we were/are both keenly aware of. We agree totally that when you accept this risk that it is ok ... and we accepted them as partners as well.
