Bugger about the ditch... Ask Steve, I think you need an adventure bike! Re the comms, you need to chain them, ie, Pair B and C, Pair A and B, start intercom between A and B, C joins convo (this process means C is first touch to B). If you have D, you pair D to A or C (depending on location). Riding down the road in order A, B, C, you want A linked to B, B linked to C. If you have C linked to A and you get separated by cars, then the comm link is more likely to go down... Don't try connecting everything to everything in one hit...
I liked the gravel exploring bit the best Why did you turn around at the end of the seal? Sheesh, could have been another good story
Glad you're getting to grips with the Sena. BMW has gone into the shop yesterday for it's 100k service. While down in Palmy for the cycle race I decided to cancel any ideas of a TT this year, partly because any touring would be by myself, which is a bit boring... and going for a TT alone is expensive. Not a bad idea though, as after emails today, I've got 3 sports events I'll likely provide support to in March. Good timing in Feb for the BMW to be checked over then
Great reading John, got my loop sorted for Nth isld start first day may change depending on how things roll after a midday start BUT big Saturday if all else fails, ferry boarding @ 2300 sails 0230 so plenty of can be had got a cabin on the bluebridge C U in CHC
Appreciate all the work you put in to ensure a great day for all. Cheers Ken O
The majority of the improvement in fuel economy is due to maintaining corner speed. There's less rolling off and on of the throttle so less accelerating. Throwing money at Robert and Denis is much cheaper than buying a new bike, but the result is the same.
Just wait till you get used to it, and expect all bikes to be like that. You'll be ruined for life (as I am)
Have to agree, my bike was done when KSS were still CKT. Compared to a standard MT, the handling is much 'firmer' and less wallowy. Got it set now for 'track/spirited' riding by Matt, and quite happy with the outcome.
Great stuff. I'm glad you got the result you were hoping for nothing worst than spending the dosh and not getting the job you expected. At the end of the day its only money !
I'll be there in Jan 15 to have the same treatment
Good write up....thanks
We had a great day met new people Had new roads to ride on Get my badge and now maybe a bike. thank for the phone calls
I didn't think I was going that quickly... Possibly something to do with the totally oversized screen and the Andrew T's suspension setup. On the ST when you open the throttle it just seems to go faster, there is no more wind and it still rides like it is on rails. Thanks for another awesome route!
great day alright maybe next time I'll finish
excellent write up KoroJ - thanks for taking the trouble - sounds a great day - cheers Aslan aka Stephen O
A good read John & many thanks to you and the team for putting on a great event. really looking forward to next year and beyond.
Many thanks to you Koro, and the whole crew for a terrific event. Gavin and I had a blast. Had a trouble free ride back to CHCH apart from a wrong turn at Sanson, ending up in Palmy. 10 min wait at the ferry before being ushered aboard. Home by 9pm. Thanks again. See you in February. Mark
excellent read I'm glad it all went well. I'm still very pissed I had to miss it because of major electrical problems, but I will be at the next one with bells on! well done John.
Yup I second that! It was an excellent weekend, I was most pleased that everyone made it back (eventually). Beemer boy only missed one checkpoint (Waihi) in the end and did provide a shot of some obscure bridge in the middle of the nowhere so I think he deserved his badge. Started thinking about next year already... James
a great read John
