Boring stuff about your boring life.
When I checked the weather for this weekend early in the week, it was supposed to utter crap, so I was preparing myself to get plenty of indoorsy projects done....but the best laid plans of mice and men!! ...I got lots of outdoorsy stuff done instead. Of course, along with getting some backed up jobs done, I got the associated rewards of a couple of short rides....and these in turn were jobs within themselves as I needed to do some more experimentation with how to get the best setup ...
Today was another Ulysses Slow Handling event at the Riverbank Carpark and once again, as well as the usual spread of American Style enclosed courses, we set a more Japanese style competition course. We set three enclosed couses and two of them were set with varying expansions so a rider can ease into the swing of it at 40% oversize, then as they gain confidence step down to 25%, 10% or the standard size. Even with this easing in, unfortunately several riders were content to enjoy ...
I acquired a new toy this week in the form of a Hero 3 Black Go Pro Video Camera. I didn't really know what I was getting with it, apart from the 32Gb mini SD card I ordered, so when it arrived I went back online and ordered a sunction cup mount, then started to read the instructions and check it out. Fortunately a few mates have these things, or have used them so a few emails to the likes of BanditRider & XP@ and I had some good info to start with. The ST is a pretty ...

Another week of marginal forecasts and sod-all riding, so it was a little disappointing to awake to a brilliant day today because we had programmed a Go-Karting Challenge to beat the winter blues. With the start scheduled for 1100 at Elsdon Indoor Raceway, I had a pretty cruisy start to the day...until I went doewn to prep and load the bike, only to discover I'd left the key in it and the battery was flat! At this point I would have just taken the car but after todays event, I was ...
Leading up to today's marathon, the weather was going to clear and be good, then it was wasn't, then we had the worst storm in over twenty years, reputedly worse than the Wahine Disaster storm of 1968 no less, and it was unlikely to be very nice at all, but as we headed home from a party at 2230 last, it seemed that the rain had ceased, the temp had dipped to 3°, but it had definitely stopped raining. That actually raised more concerns for me though, because the water on the ground was more likely ...
When I went to fill today, I noted that it's been a month since my last visit to the pumps....and it still had a quarter of a tank....sheesh...no wonder I've been feeling a bit twitchy due to withdrawal symptoms!! Apart from a photo shoot a few weeks ago, I've only managed a bit of round-town riding, so with my next scheduled ride being for tomorrow, I had a quick look at the weather forecast, spotted that it appears to include 'Red Rain' (potentially 50+mm in a 12 hour period), then decided to ...

We had two rides this week, which was a bit fortuitous because when I went to fill this morning. I noted the last fill was on 31/03/13....at 0444....that's am... in the morning ….and would have been the dawn ride! Sheesh, lucky the gas hadn't gone off in the tank after such a long break between rides!! Anyway, ANZAC day was the annual Free Ambulance Charity Ride...which isn't really a ride because it didn't require a fill of the tank, but I did get the bike out, got it wet and we ...
