  1. Looking for that next bike

After my accident last year I am finally ready to find out what would suit me as a replacement bike. My Tiger was written off and the money was recovered from the insurance.

So the bike shops have been getting a few visits to cater for my curiosity to checkout brands and models

A few weeks ago I started out with Andrew Templeton to assure that my biking prowess had not been damaged, he had me idling around on a 125cc Honda at the slowest possible speed, ...

  2. Pilgramage to the 'naki

Tomorrow I'm taking young Shaydon up to Waitara to meet a guy called Phil, a moderator from the Yahoo! James Motorcycle Forum. Who has a restored James of the same year. Really looking forward to be able to see what I will be aiming for.

I am also the proud owner of a spoke key. Exactly how I am supposed to use it I am not sure yet... time to go and see if WebBikeWorld has a put me in the right direction.
  3. I did it. Pipes on and up and running.

OMG, what a mission that was. But I DID IT! Rang up shop to get new mounting clamps (is that what they're called??) They had to order them in and I was too impatient to wait. Have managed to clean up the old ones and they look ok. Got the replacement nut I needed and put everything together this morning. The new pipes look and sound awesome IMHO. Took her out for a run and there doesn't seem to be any loss in performance either, so it's all good.
Was going to tackle the oil and filter ...

  4. An abysmal court decision

On May 17th 2008 I survived a near fatal accident in the Wellington Terrace tunnel, after a rouge trailer with cage uncontrollably swung into my path after dislodging from its towing vehicle, I was riding my Triumph Tiger 955cc motorcycle.

The impact of the trailer hitting me severely crushed my right leg, catapulting my body thru the air, dumped roadside continuing to skid, my thoughts were ‘will I be taken out by oncoming traffic - is this the end’.

    I owe my very ...

  5. xr spartan 3

Have been doing some research into f3 racing regulations.

From what I can gather it will be eligible to race in club level f3 racing !! Competitive ? Probably not, but I'm gonna do it anyway.

Made some small changes to the chassis, nothing major as my financial situation is about the same as a bath that has just finished emptying, there is nothing left..

Things are on the up however and the future is look brighter..

    Stay tuned..

  6. 1936 - a good year?

I have eventually got round to looking up the frame number to find out what year the bike is. It seems they started numbering their frames in 1929 with a prefix of "A", they changed this every year to B in 1930. My frame is a "H" therefore it was born in 1936, 63 years older than me! The ending is still a 1931 (or before), but as things didn't change much in those days, it fits and would work without a problem.

  8. And it gos on...

OMG, what a freaking nightmare. Picked up the pipes from shop. They had undone nuts, then put them back on, presumably so they wouldn't get lost. Has just taken me an hour to get the friggin things off again. And I didn't need them anyway because the pipes came with new ones. Got that done, then took the mounting rings off the old pipes and WTF I can't get them on the new ones. Anyway, they are all marked up and tatty looking, so think I will just get new ones tomorrow and get them ...
