  1. fun with rear tires on front wheel supermoto offroad @_O

Thought i'd try out what others have done overseas, put some kenda k270's onto the drz400SM rims --- couldnt break the bead myself so had Botany Honda do it, they did a great job.

offroad (rutty clay on construction sites) they performed great, front is a bit sketchy but the drz seems to climb over some pretty gnarly terrain with them on

Onroad they're great, able to cruise at 100kph with no worries, tight corners ...

  2. 2015 tt2000

Mate, I dunno about you but Im fair buggered.
The poster on the fridge in the smoko room at Suzuki NZ, Wanganui hit us like a bombshell. Rob Gardiner went on to explain what had happened and that understandably due to his medical condition Mike Hyde, the author of the Twisting Throttle books and the driving force behind the TT would not be there to wave us home.
It was a sobering moment reminding us how fickle and fragile life is; you never know when its going to stand up and ...

    Lower Prices (6months)

Price is well below the cost of purchase and build.

Car Jam shows KM 130tho but 97 done in a 6month period indicates likely speedo replacement. The speedos cost a lot new and reconditioning a faulty one is also expensive.

  4. 2015 AMCC Round 2 @ Hampton Downs

Last time out didnt go well so this time I was looking to have a much better day. Id identified the problems and had come up with a solution, namely lowering the footpegs and putting a seat on the bike to give me a lot more room for my legs.

Making the bike more comfortable means less effort to move around so Id use less energy and wouldnt get worn out, both of which will be very important for the upcoming 6 hour endurance ...
  5. Raglan to Kawhia Exploring (31/12/2015)

Well I never got as far as Kawhia, but I digress when the blog has barely begun.

The plan was to base myself out of Raglan for Christmas-New Year break, tracking all the roads for accuracy for the open source maps and generally enjoy going down every road and see where it took me. Raglan to Kawhia would normally take around 1-1.5 hours and about 50km, with a lot of that being gravel and slow going especially if a graded had just been through.

Ive only done the route ...
  6. Need a muffler for my RG

    Hi guys,
I was rushing to the gym yesterday afternoon and I kicked the starter lever on My Trusty RG150(Has given me some trouble but I still love her) as soon as she started she sounded different.I looked around and noticed that the muffler was missing!!!Some motherf$%&er had made off with my muffler and that too really professionally. There wasn't a single other scratch on my bike but now I am really upset and on the lookout for a replacement. What should I look out for when getting one ...

  7. Tt2000 2016

So for those who dont already know the rules are simple. Theres various checkpoints, worth between 1000 and 5000 points, dotted around the South Island. They give you a t-shirt at the start and when you get to one of the checkpoints you have to take a photo of the bike, the landmark and the t-shirt to prove you were there. The target is a minimum 2000km (1243 miles) and 50,000 points by the time you get to the finish point 48 hours later.

The TT2000 is very much about setting your ...

  8. HMCC Putoline Winter Series Round 3 @ Taupo

Racing motorbikes you get to learn a lot about yourself. Things you didn't think you could do you find are possible. Fears you thought were you couldn't beat are overcome. Often we overcome physical, emotional and financial problems to do things we never thought we could do. Equally as important is recognising when you shouldn't be riding.

The weather forecast for the day wasn't looking good. It was going to be wet all day with little chance of drying out. However, the forecast for ...
