Pictures need to be in a publicly accessible album. Go to full image view for the submit picture to POTM link.
You can submit up to 3 images.
If you have changed album privacy settings in Settings -> Profile Privacy to anything other than "Everyone" or "Registered members", you pictures will not be seen.

What type of pictures can I submit?
The picture must be motorbike related in some way.
You must have taken the photo yourself, or have permission from the image owner.
Images can not be edited.
No nudity allowed. Sexy bikini girlies very ok :)

How can I view/remove the pictures I have submitted?
From the Community -> My Albums link you can view or remove pictures you have submitted.

What happens if I delete a submitted picture from my album/s?
The picture will be completely removed from POTM, even if it has won.

How do I vote for POTM?
The POTW page shows all pictures submitted. From there you can pick your 1st (3 points), 2nd (2 points) and 3rd (1 point) favorite pictures from the 1 2 3 numbered links below each image. You can change your vote/s at anytime.

How/when is POTM winner picked?
At the end of the month, the picture with the most points, then total votes, then submitted earliest, will be posted on the homepage as that months winner. All other pictures keep their votes, so it is possible for a picture to accumulate votes over many weeks.

How long will my pictures stay in POTM.
Haven't decided upon this yet. This allows members to subscribe to the event... Advertising motorcycle events is always free on Kiwi Biker. Just post the event info in the forums and add a calendar event. This allows members to subscribe to the event thread to be kept informed of updates, as well as request an event reminder from the calendar event. If this is a major event and you would like it displayed on the homepage, just contact one of the Admins.

All motorcycle businesses that wish to sell their wares on this site must create a login using their business name then make a request to an Admin or Senior Mod to be added to the Bike Shops group. This gives you the ability to post in the Shop Sales, Info & Discounts forum. This service is free, but with an average of over 2000 posts per day on Kiwi Biker, you may want to consider paid banner advertising to ensure your message is seen by all visitors to the site.

Paid motorcycle business advertising with banner ads or placing your post on the homepage is also available. I can place banner ads anywhere on Kiwi Biker. You can check your group memberships in settings under Permission Groups.

When you first join, you belong to the "registered" group. Over time, you can join the Senior Member group.

How do I become a Senior Member?
Once you have been an active member on Kiwi Biker for long enough, you will be made a Senior Member. This change is automatic once you have been an active member for the required number of months and do not have a negative rep.

What changes once I become a senior member?
Many levels/restrictions increase like avatar size, stored PMs, more configuration options for posts/blogs, ability to create user groups, see who gave you rep, use of animated gifs in avatars, sigs & profile pics and many other changes.

What is the L.O.A group?
This is currently the only publicly joinable group. You can join this group yourself from the Permission Groups page in Settings. Belonging to this group gives you access to the L.O.A forum which is used for posting adult content. Pornography is not allowed on KB, but tasteful nudity is. That's Playboy tasteful, not Hustler tasteful.

What's a Site Leader?
The site leaders page lists the Moderators, Senior Moderators and Administrators of Kiwi Biker who you can turn to for help with any problems on Kiwi Biker. They also dish out punishments if members misbehave. ;)

What's the :Me tag on some members' names.
This tag denotes the member as a Mentor volunteer. These members can be contacted by leaner riders to request mentoring to improve their riding skills. Each mentor has the experience and patience to teach newbie riders the skills they need to ride New Zealand roads.

What's the Bike Shops group?

Each infraction type has an expiration time. When the infraction expires, the associated points are removed from the user's point total. Infraction types can also be given as warnings. A warning does not add any infraction points to the user's point total.

Examples of site functionality that can be lost due to a high infraction level. The higher their level, the more functionality they lose.

Also many others have offered to help host it and wanted to know what it required. So here are the details.

I run two sites on this server. Kiwi Biker & SV Portal.

The cost:
Current server is with MegaNetServ: Setup $40US, Monthly fee $119US

vBulletin license: $30US/year for each site.
kiwibiker.co.nz domain cost: $35NZ/year
sv-portal.com domain cost: $35NZ/year

Server requirements:

This site needs its own server running Linux. Specifically Ubuntu 8.04LTS. I need full control of my own server to be able to do what I do.

Current server:
CPU: Intel Core2 E7400 @ 2.80GHz
Memory: 4GB @ 667MHz
Disk: 500GB SATA

KB uses 44GB filesystem and 5GB database
SV uses 13GB filesystem and 1GB database

Kiwi Biker uses about 200GB/month usage.
SV Portal uses about 30GB/month usage.
This does not include the twice weekly backups to my server at home or downloading software updates.

I also have to run a server 24hrs from home for testing and automated backups of the server in the US.

It is a user title which graduates the more you post. Once you reach the status of Senior Member, you are able to define your own user title.

What are the small stars/graphics under my name?
These are graphical user ranks which also graduate and increase in number the more your post.
They start with silver stars
then change to gold stars at 200 posts
then change to a rainbow at 1000 posts
then change to a flashy cross at 10,000 posts

Reputation level.
This graphic indicates your reputation level. Users can click on the icon to give positive or negative rep to that users post and optionaly make a comment only that user will see. The amount of rep you can add/subtract from a user depends on how long you've been a KB member, the number of posts you have as well as your own rep level. You can view the reputation you have received in your Settings page. Only Senior Members can see who the reputation is from.

The main types are: Posts (Threads), Entries (Blogs), Article Comments (CMS), Group Messages (Social Groups), Events (Calendar) & Ads (Bike Trader).
Lesser types are: Visitor messages (Profiles) & Picture Comments (Albums).

For now only posting in threads increases your post count and only if you post in a Motorcycle forum. Posting in non motorcycle forums like Off Topic will not add to your post count.

Any time you upload attachments to posts, blogs, groups, albums or articles, you will see the upload window if you have "Enable Enhanced Attachment Uploading" set to on in your Forum Settings.

From here you can upload new images, drag & drop images from existing folders or just manage your attachments/folders. Folders are created by right clicking on the "Home" folder and entering a folder name. Multiple folders can be created in a multi level directory structure. Folders & images can be moved by dragging and dropping them into other folders.

When uploading, you can choose multiple files by [Ctrl]-clicking on multiple files in the browser window.

R Rated images
Any images containing adult content should be placed in a folder named "pr0n". You can have as many pr0n folders as you like anywhere in the folder tree. This makes the display thumbnail for these images show an "R Rated" logo instead for any user that has Image Censoring set to "Yes" in their forum settings. The image can still be viewed by clicking on the "R Rated" logo thumbnail.

KB is an online resource for NZ biker groups/individuals to do what they need to do. A central point of communication for organization, info and just talking shit. Although we have many of the trappings of a club, we will never be one. The problem I have with clubs is that they infer the inclusion of some, for the exclusion of others. KB is for anyone who is into two wheels and an engine between their legs.

For those that wish to behave in a club manner, that’s fine. We have shirts, stickers, patches and a flag to make you feel part of a group, but the site will only be that, just a site.

For those who don’t want to be associated with KB, but just use it as a place to keep in touch with other bikers and events, then they shouldn’t feel the need to be part of a club and it’s rules for offsite behaviour.

KB will always help in any way it can to organize and advertise events, but the responsibility for the event remains solely with the organizers. Anyone who wishes to use the Kiwi Biker name for large events, ask for permission so we can make sure the organizers are responsible people.

Kiwi Biker is here to help your offsite activities, not control them.
