For a while now I have had an CB250RS stuck away in the back of the shed to use as a project base,so all parts not needed have been or are on Trademe and as a result I have already recouped the amount I paid for the bike..................

First thing I decided was that I want a old school style with some modern twists

The suspension

first the front out with the old amd in with the not so old which is in actual fact CBR250R(MC19) front forks,triple clamps and single 2 pot caliper,I change the bottom bearing collor on the steem for it all to fit.....
The rear shocks are from a GS550 and will be replace with new hagons further down the track

The wheels

They are both now 17" although I have been told I shoud've just use mags it would off been cheaper,they just were'nt in the plan and just wouldn't suit the chassis and styling of the bike and certainly wouldn't give me the look I am after

So for the rear I found a 3x17" rim last year which needed some mods done to the spoke angles to house the original rear drum brake hub

and for the front wheel I found that was on a XR complete with rotor even though the rotor will be sold and replace as I need to find a 4 holed offset 300mm disc and centrlise the front wheel on the axle so still lots of work too do the the basis is there......

Tyres are 130/70/17 rear and 110/70/17 front

Headlight is of a GS550 I just love those 8 inch lights and works well with the GB instruments I have

In the last couple of months I have been able to fine a GB500 motor complete with wiring loom and carb and just last week I got the header pipes which will have the collector box cut out and pipes spread and extened to run 2 megaphone mufflers under what use too be the pillon peg mounting points....

Although I need to make up some new engine mounting plates and spacers I dont need to change the mounting points on the frame to fit the engine but I do need to change the mounting points on the frame for the fuel tank and lift it off the top of the engine which is alot easier

and just the other day the risers arrived,I think they look pretty sharp and the missus reconds they look like giant zippo's :facepalm:

I still need to sort out the rear end but that only a matter of weilding in some new tail section mounting brakets to accomadate the new tail section and new tail lighting set up
