Great tip
When getting on your bike turn the wheel away from you - tis easier to get on :innocent: (I must've looked like a right novice)

Ok my first go on the motorway (Got on at Highbrook & off at Ellerslie) this weekend and with thanks to Paul on his 1200 Bandit for helping boost my confidence. It was a simple task even though the weather (windy & rainy) wind was more of a thought for me as I've not experienced it as much as that (- get over it !) wondered weather I'd done up my jacket enough and gave my waist band a bit more of a tug when I reached the off ramp and caught up with Paul who had forgotten that I could only do 80 as he sped off at a ton thinking "where is he".

Will definitely do a commute this week, beginning of the week looks like a wash out so will try RED58 on Thursday / Friday :Playnice:.

Pottered around the streets in the Eastern Burbs on Sunday morning - (Doesn't Time fly when you is having fun), went out around 11.15 after the showers & did a few stops n' starts then I thought I must see how much fuel I have so went to the Shell Station to fill up & zero the clock, this is where the stall took place when I stopped at the pump furthest away from anyone who may spot that this is the first time he's used a petrol pump on a bike, $2.40 later we are full (is it customary/courteous to remove your helmet when going to pay )?
:whocares:

I did find however that the sooner I get my proper riding slacks my ass ain't gonna slide around my seat so much & its easy to get 60kms without trying.
Gonna try an evening ride this week weather permitting as I would'nt want to run before I walk.

Thankfully though I felt confident on my VTR & RED58 is feeling comfortable under my control. Looking forward to ride with a couple of mates this Sunday :2thumbsup

Ciao
Keep Safe Out there.

My real biking experience starts here, I've Passed my learners test, and went out into the wide world of bike shops to see what fitted me. To my surprise the Yamaha Scorpio was'nt the one for me - it would do if I was to potter around but my commute is the other side of the Motorway in Avondale which would kill the Scorpio in a few months I would Imagine - so decided not to go the full hog & get a 4 cylinder madhouse machine - but a more realistic for my experience and a Honda VTR 250 :done:.
