Last minute decission----GO---- So pleased I did. It was an awsome rally ( some of the wettish ones are usually the best ). Took all the camera gear in the hope I could get to use it. I'd tried to tee up with the organisers about 5 months ago to video the event but nothing ever happened so I decided, what the hell, I'll do it anyway. It all turned out good and got some great footage and met lotsa new people.
Awsome ride home and found I can swing the camera sideways and get some really hot footage of riders on the move while riding beside them.
Got home about mid day Sunday, made a coffee and started editing the footage taken at the rally like my life depended on it. By Monday 2pm it was all done, and so was I...lol I'm really pleased with the outcome and have produced a DVD of the whole event. Not a dull, Yawn home video type but a full on WOW, cool type. The organisers have put a link on their site to a promo for it and ya can even buy a copy. Promo is also on YouTube.

I saw a SLR tank mount for the Triumph on the net somewhere after I sat looking at the bike trying to decide, handlebars or tank and had decided tank. The mount wouldn't have held my camera, a Canon XL2 which is a pretty big camera. I made up a steel mount and used the screws holding the avation type filler cap to mount it. I can still refuel the bike no probs and it works a treat. With the wide angle lense on it I get the guages and the view angles out either side of the fairing so you get to see everything. The camera is about as steady as I've seen and the picture with the Canon is top notch.
Did a run round the block and was impressed with the footage. Love the view going through the corners....cool!! I'm going to do a ride round the hills one day soon and get some good footage.
One things for sure, it looks bloody impressive on the bike...LOL:2thumbsup

Well, I've been ridin since i was 15 although I did have a squirt on my brothers
Suzuki Maverick (50cc) before that but it don't really count cause it was only up the driveway and parking it in the back shed. Mind you, it was at full throttle , in first gear and I only stopped cause the sheds back wall was really strong. Didn't do any damage but he did make me wheel it to the garage where I was supposed to be puttin it. Only missed by 20ft. Pretty good for a first go I reckon!

I've had a few bikes over the years. I'll see how many I can remember....
1. Yamaha 50 steppy
2. Kawasaki 100 dual ratio trail
3. Suzuki T350J (First ton on this one)
4. Honda 350 twin
5. Yamaha YZ 360
6. Honda 250 trail
7. Yamaha 1100 Virago
8. Suzuki VL1500 Intruder
9. Suzuki VX800
10. Harley Davidson 1340 softail
11. Triumph Sprint 900. ( current )

Not a bad variety I spose...bout 3 years a bike.

Worst bike - 8. Suzuki VL1500 Intruder. What an absolute PIG! Mind you, it did win me concourse De Elegance at the Brass Monkey. Bloody horrible to ride though.

Best bike - All the others. They all have a story and are part of my happy life.

Fastest bike...pick up - easily the YZ 360. Top Speed - Triumph 900

Accidents - Layed No 1 down to avoid a side impact on a car full of Mongrel Mob in the square. Figured I might as well beat myself up rather than let them do it for hittin their car...LMAO...No drama though and picked up and rode away. Also went up the arse end of a car in wellington on this bike.
That's about it really. Must have learnt that bike crashes hurt so decided to become a good rider instead...LOL Oh, I also found out that a Nitto tyre ain't as good as a Conti on the corners in the wet on the T350J. Oh..also hit a pedestrian on this one...LMAO WHAM! SPLAT...I was ok but he ended up in ER. Don't look right when someone foams from the mouth huh!
mmmmm fell asleep on this one too...twice...different occasions. Doin 48hour rides for the fun of it...LOL Oh, also got run off the road by a black Chev impalla...that one did some damage...to the bike, not me.
Yup, that's it...I think...cept for a few dumb arse things that weren't really accidents.

To be cont..............
