anyone got any tips? does this sound familiar to anyone? help would be greatly appreciated as it's currently my only means of transport, car needs wof and reg.

cruising home after getting some work done on a saturday, thought i'd go for a quick blast through town. as i was leaving i turned into a side street between the two one-ways in town to get back in the homewards direction. i could see a guy in a big ute coming out of the driveway just a bit ahead of me, and i could see he wasn't looking right. in fact he was focussing to his left very hard for some reason. of course, being a biker for 8+ years you come to learn that most people simply don't see you, for whatever reason. so i kept my speed low, didn't change out of first, keeping an eye on this guy who still wasn't looking in my direction. got to just in front of him, and i hear his engine rev as he floors it. i hit my horn and simultaneously gas it to try get ahead of him, but he t-bones me, sending me flying off the bike onto the road.
at this point i was mad, i couldn't believe what had just happened. i expressed my rage with a few choice swearwords that would make a sailor blush. as i was in the middle of the road, i had to get to the footpath so i tried to get up, but unfortunately my left foot was mangled from the truck hitting me so i just kinda hobbled over, pulled off my gloves and helmet and lay down. the guy who hit me came straight over, along with some others to see how i was. the response was 'what do you fucking think?'
the guy who hit me was nice enough to call an ambulance and the police, who arrived promptly and sorted everything out.
once at the hospital i waited for someone to see me, had an x-ray and discovered i had actually lost an entire bone, cleanly, from the middle toe of my left foot. the doctor freaked as he had never seen anything like it, usually the bone gets crushed or the bones surrounding it are broken, but they were just fine. turns out as he had hit me i was still moving forward, and as my foot slid along his bumper the licence plate cut through my boot, into my foot and sliced the bone right clean out. nuts!! so, the next day i went into surgery and had the rest of my toe (the tip was still attached, still had blood vessels going to it and they were considering saving it) amputated, two days later i left the hospital. that was a month ago now and i'm still having issues with the damn thing.
the bike was a write-off - you'll probably be seeing it on trademe soon, it has a 'real mean ride twins' sticker on the tank - the ute actually ended up on top of it. the exhausts were bent in, the rear subframe was bent out of place, the fairings have assorted scratches and holes, and theres a large dent in the left of the tank from my knee being crushed into it. the left rearset was completely removed, only the bar joining the shifter to the gearbox was holding it on. engines great though! if you need something with oodles of grunt it sure has it in spades..just had an oil and filter change too. still paying it off, in fact.
so, i'm looking for something new. would love a TL-R but they tend to be expensive..others in my list include a speed triple 955, cbr900rr and maybe a motard..gonna go check out a baby duke this weekend. otherwise, just sitting around wishing i was out riding!!

i'm kinda interested in good places to stay...i won't be taking alot of money with me, and will probably just be after places to camp out for the night. any info or help would be greatl appreciated!!
this won't be happening till around the end of november so its no major rush, still in planning stages.:-)
also, anyone wanting to join in for a leg is more than welcome.:-)

so anyway. heres the photochop, yes i'm using sully's bike as i have the same bike plus i'm using a k7 gsxr600 headlight..:-) but i will be retaining the standard wheels and leaving the frame as is, if i get real bored i may end up polishing it.

i've been told perhaps i'm running the wrong ampere/hour (old battery was 10amp/hr and current one is 7 amp/hr) but what i know about electronics is smaller than an ant shit..
anyone else experience this problem? i have spoken to a few that say it's just what TLs do..any ideas of how to remedy it would be greatly appreciated!

i'm after a new tail section, late model R6 would be AWESOME, but if anyone on here does custom fibreglassing i've got a particular style that i'm after.

i have a set of '05 cbr600rr headlights which i've already begun modifying but i REALLY want a late-model gsxr 600/750/1000 or faired bandit or even a gs500 headlight as it would really make the bike complete.

also, cheap brake discs (not TOO cheap, tillers are notorious for warping the standard discs..).

trying not to spend too much coin either, the nz streetfighters site is a good example of far too much for my pocket..

any help would be greatly appreciated!!
