well my 200 dollar punture has turned into a 600 dollar repair ,replacing 1 inch to 7/8 handlebars is a prick ,mirrors ,indicators and couldnt get tank dead right.

The fallen riders will never be forgotten. ]]> splatcat https://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/entry.php/2654-Riders-on-a-storm https://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/entry.php/2609-a-little-bit-of-tlc Fri, 14 Sep 2012 12:02:58 GMT well since changing mind on trike job plus having to wait for another drive shaft to come from usa.thought would look at a bit of maintenance and bike had been back firing to much for my liking.timing cant be change on these bikes so must be fuel.stripped carbs and clean jets out .they were a mess... well since changing mind on trike job plus having to wait for another drive shaft to come from usa.thought would look at a bit of maintenance and bike had been back firing to much for my liking.timing cant be change on these bikes so must be fuel.stripped carbs and clean jets out .they were a mess .new plugs and leads .checked coils sweet as.started up and took for wee run still back firing hmmmm .took back wheel off again plus swing arm .found battery overflow had been dripping on pipes full of wee pin holes .found some good mufflers and fitted with new pipes very quiet stuff it .still back firing noise coming from under seat. thought had cracked seal rings on header pipes .went to unbolt heat sheild and found only one bolt still weilded to pipes .the others had torn holes thru pipes under sheild .tig new nuts with studs to pipes .fitting sheild with brass nuts. started bike sweet as .replaced wheel bearings front and back .oil changes all round. quick ride around block and good old 87 honda runs and sounds great .thou pity mufflers so quiet as can hear all engine noise. now only got 4 weeks to go till hold comes off so can rego and take for good run.
