Mataharu/Ohinewhi Road had just been graded to a pretty nasty camber which made for a more cautious ride over the Hapuakohe Range.

Came across a MX day on Coxhead Rd in a recently cut Maize paddock. Stopped for a quick look, thought about doing a lap but the Shinko 700 isn't really designed for that + im a stingy bugger and didnt want to let go of some coin (basicly just scared:baby:)

On to the East Coast Rd aka birdwatching coast? everyone needs a hobby I guess. After buzzing around the motorhomes and scaring of the birds:devil2: I stoped for a photo op:

Stoped at the pub in Kaiaua for a well earnt drink, alot of cool bikes there today. I dont usually have a beer if I'm riding but the day asked for it.

Went up into the Hunua Ranges to one of the reservoirs, was a nice metal road that deserves steering with the rear, disappointed to find the gate locked past the reservoir; was looking forward for alot of fun in there. Always locked?
Im proud of the little WRR it just takes the abuse and smiles.

Went down Mangiti Rd and Te Akau Warf Rd to look out over Raglan Harbor to Raglan, had a close call with a semi on Mangiti Rd just had enough room to squeeze down the side of it and stay upright:shit:. Mangiti Rd has just had fresh gravel layed on it so it got a bit sketchy with the pressure I had in the tyres, let them down a bit then had me some fun :woohoo:
Then off up the coast on Te Akau South Rd, started to get steering whith the rear locked in.
Forgot to turn on the tracking thingy so you'll just have to use a map and provided road names If you want to try these roads... They link up pretty easy and were quite bloodly good not far from Hamilton or even Auckland, haven't seen anyone else mentioning them:scratch:

Started the adv from Story road off Tahuna rd, some nice twisty seal in this area thats worth riding too. First 'good' road was Matahuru rd; nice twisty seal soon turns to gravel with just the right amount of sweepers and tight corners:

^^Would be nice if it was "No cars.." too

You come out on to SH27... I headed North to North rd... Not a bad little rd; was very considerate to a guy riding a Horse. From there up to Okaeria rd where I planed to do some riding in Maramarua Forest, no luck; all gates closed... always? Every forest I've been to lately is shut off.

Headed South to Matahuru rd/ vally. Cool road, leads to the start/ end of Hapuakohe walkway (never knew it existed, looks good)

^ Doesn't say no bikes....:devil2:

South futher to Tahuna rd again, then on to Waiti rd (favorite of thr day) this ones tight and windey gravel then opens up to an awesome view out over the Hauraki Plains.

From there along Old Hill Road... Twisty one lane seal... got a bit carried away here, started 'backing it in' to corners Motard style  fun; watch out for the locals who love to cut corners...

Then to Tahuna and Quine rd, more twisties to get carried away with.

Then home James... 200ks and an empty tank.

Was good to get out and explore more of the area near where I grew up, I was surprised I hadn't done all these in the car growing up.

Think this report is long? Wait till I do some real epic shit....:bleh:

The day started after lunch ( I'm a night owl), the wind was up by then, not so great on a 250 dual sport (tall and light). About 10 mins in I was greated on Waring rd by an utter kunt who had already cut the corner ahead of me, then swerved at me just as I was pasing him... He got the Kiwibiker wave; didn't give chase to get his rego, he'll be local so I'll probably see him the the Gas station, words will be exhanged and I'll give his plate to the Cops incase he atually hits someone.<_<

I had a Bee in my bonnet about the car wanker... Then I literally got a Bee in my bonnet, came in under my chin then sat next to me eye.

Picked up the Waikato tag and headded to Nikau Caves. Had a stop there and tried to find the Caves on a bush walk... I wasn't in the right place and tramped around in my MX boots & knee/shin pads for nothing (well it was a nice walk but not in that gear.:angry: Found out you have to go on a guided tour for the caves.

At least there is the Cafe there (couches too:cool:) so could cool down with a ginger beer and get some energy from a nice Latte for the ride home.

Not another soul on the track. Was a great day for it.

Only a couple wet patches that were easy enough to get through:
