I actually met two young guys in a pick up truck while I was stopped at a red light, while I was on my Ninja and he stuck his head out the windah and asked me if I was going to "pop it up" for him...I don't have a penis so I was assuming my bike wheelie-ing...was what he meant

I was embarrased to say, I didn't know how to do one, he quickly offered to jump on the back of mine and come teach me...erm....uh.....NO!

*sigh*...I wish I could find someone to teach me how to....:bye:....but I don't want to drop my bike or myself. Video explanations accepted:shifty:

Don't think i am Cuckoo, I've always just wanted to do one, and since I have always been a cruiser rider, never thought of my old childhood wish until I got this little green baby.

Took SahSin (my red bike) out for a spin after work, after the gym on Saturday...and it was sooooo nice, I haven't ridden that bike since 2009! Couldn't lift it, due to shoulder injury, but shoulder is 95% better now!~ I LOVED IT! How can I even think of selling it? I am not selling it anymore! It was up...but I didn't respond to half the email I recieved...inside I think I din't want to sell it! So, I am keeping it! Gonna change the pipes on it and also get new grips!

It was nice to have a rumble under me instead of the Ninja scream until it gets comfortable at RPMs it like to hum at.

Not only that, some young dude, prolly 20 something, coulda been younger was hanging outta his car (passenger side) and was blowing kisses at my bike!

I knew then I CANNOT sell it! I love my two babies, the Ninja may be traded in next spring for a bigger version, 250 is just too small for me!

Anyway, it was an amazing ride on my cruiser, felt light, scraped the floor boards doing a right hand turn, freaked myself out and almost lost it....wouldn't have looked so cool if I dumped it now would I???

I think riding the Ninja has helped me ALOT in terms of leaning the heavier 800cc bike over!

Aaahh..what more could a girl ask for?

Hmmm...maybe a bucket bike or a dirtbike in the garage???:shifty:

So, I almost went up to a total stranger yesterday...he had a Kawi prolly a R6 or something..real beauty..and asked him if he knew how to do wheelies and if he could teach me, apparently watching youtube videos isn't professional enough? So what is? The local 20 year old who rides a sporty? They don't have learn how to do wheelie schools here....

Went to a place here called Hockley Valley, about the only place you can find good twisty roads. Not like what you have in NZ but it suffices. I haven't really done any twisties with this new bike and I was looking forward to it.

A bit leary at times the accident of 2006 still engrained in my mind it happened on a turn in the road.

Anyway, I did it and I let the bike do its thing, on the long tight turns, I just kept thinking in my head, trust the bike! trust the bike! lean and counter steer...and over it went, accelerate and out of the turn I came every time....

GOD I LOVE MY NINJA THERAPY!

This little baby is going to have me doing a track day by the end of the season me thinks!

*sigh* I'm in love with this little green devil

I used this opportunity to put into practice all the advice you have posted. I practiced shifting alot quicker to keep it at 6000 rpm and it was much better. I didn't feel like I was killing the poor thing to quickly...and I think the bike liked it too...kept a steady humming, there were a few slip ups but for the most part I stayed at 6000 or slight just over.

Next thing I want to practice is cornering on this thing...the shorter wheel base is different than my cruiser, just a little tilt and its practically chasing its tail...doing a 180...lol...well, ok I am exagerating...but its different for me!

I am re-learning how to ride...lol...its quite fun...I love the little Ninja! I feel like I have more control over every little movement it makes.

Ok it didn't rain on my arse...It called for rain, but it was cloudy all day...

I finally thought to take Green Envy out for a ride (yup that is my new baby's name) My cruiser's name is Sah Sin (means hummingbird in Haida Indian)

I rode to the gym, did my workout and was watching the clouds out side as I ran on the treadmill...getting darker...so I ran faster...LOL ...didn't want to get wet on the way home although I was already soaking with sweat.

I rode home and the wind picked up alittle...

A few thoughts went through my head while riding...when the side wind hits the bike it feels like it wants to take the wheels right out from under me...is this normal on a crotch rocket? and why don't I get this on my cruiser? mind you with the strong winds, because I have those fenders over my wheels, I do get it with strong winds but not as if my wheels want to get flipped.

Next thought that went through my head, ok since I have to keep the RPM's at 6000 for the first 1000 km as recommended by the Kawi rule book...does that mean I need to shift gears quicker and do like a 5 th gear to stay at 80 km/hr speed limit on the road to try to keep it at 6000rpm, I always feel like its reving too high, but it almost likes to stay at 8000-10,000 rpms in 5 th gear...it almost starts to get that happy hummming sound at that rpm...

What do you people think...this probably sounds like a dumb dumb question, but with my cruiser I just have to listen to the engine and know where it likes to sit, no breaking in period for her, as I got it already used...

Ok awaiting someones expert opinion here...
