This is Thomas a Vietnamese race mechanic, you know that place where they have all those hot 50's and 125's are big bikes.
Thomas, ESE's Race Team's Tuner is fettling number 9. adjusting the port timing for Taupo.
Its hard to see but he has taped a degree wheel to the magneto flywheel...
Sorry in advance to those experiencing inclimactic weather.
But Dogam! It is the perfect day to paint or trim trees or wash the car.
Don't do any of those things. Don't even call a friend.
Just get out there and ride while you can. You don't work all week to mow the lawn.
I'm not...
I fitted a set of these to the R1 last April. They've now covered 11,000 km during all 4 seasons and now is probably a good time to post a few comments.
Like me, you may have assumed the Road 6 is simply an evolution of the 5, as they look similar. But they feel very different on the R1. The...
The beauty of an event like this is that newer riders who have spent time more recently practicing around cones are possibly going to be better at it than a lot of far more experienced riders.
I think confidence is an essential part of biking, commiting to that corner or leaning further than you would have leaned before. swinging your bike around at slow speeds and making decisions in the blink of an eye. Confidence is essential so i try to use it as much as possible. come and join in!!
Would love to - but I can't as (a) I still only have my dirt bike and (b) confidence is clearly not my middle name.....maybe one day though I will make the switch from dirt to road........give me another 10 years Mr Confident

I sat my test on a barely road legal dirt bike in the UK, cones, figure 8's the lot in pishing rain & high winds, the bike was really easy to handle. If you can, go for it. Not sure what criteria is for the bikes, though & it won't get hurt if it has a lie down.

TBH, I would be in like a KY greased rat if had the time, I would be happy to do Taupo & back in a day, my arse would'nt, with the intention of happily just having a crack at my own pace & ability, squish a cone or three etc just for the experience & confidence boost I would get from better (more committed) riders. I would fill my panniers with foam, take my mirrors off & bubble wrap the bike. Be a bugger pushing it back to the Bay of Islands.
We need a motorsport facility up here. I'm going to call the mayor.

Never mind the mayor.....go straight to the top....call the President, or should that be Prime Minister.
