John Dale Motorcycles, K' Rd, Auckland

    Thread Starter: scootnz

Any older KB'rs who remember John Dale Motorcycles? The Master? The shop closed in 1974. I am specifically interested in the scooters they assembled and sold, but also any other tidbits, and wondered if anyone on KB had any memories to offer. This is for a story/article I am putting...

    CB500X vs. CRF300 Rally for sealed/metal touring

    Thread Starter: Odakyu-sen

I enjoy unsealed-road touring. I am not interested in true off-road or forestry trail or farmland riding. Back in 2013 I bought a new KLR650. I really enjoyed it, but it had a couple of problems. It wasn't happy at cruising over 110 km/h; it would start to drink oil if you went any faster. Two...

Ninja 300 Oil Viewing port cracked - Help!

    Thread Starter: newzealand

Hey guys, new forum member and rider here. Was practicing tight right turns and hit a curb at a low speed causing me to drop my Ninja 300, the rear brake lever took the brunt and smashed the oil viewing port. My current options are to wait for a replacement which could take ages due to covid...

    Kids dirt bikes

    Thread Starter: geoffm

Mr 12, who is fairly short but I expect will take off as a teenager soon, has a PW80 for hacking around the farm. It is now getting a bit small so what is the next steep? Large wheel KLX110? The stadnard KLX110 and it's equivalents dont seem a lot taller than the PW80. I woudl prefer electric...

  • Bucket Bonanza - Including the Bucket GP

The Auckland bucket crew are organising a weekend of racing and the New Zealand Bucket GP at Tokoroa Kart track. This will be held on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 of April. This will include full weekends racing for support classes (for club licence holders) as well as the F4 Grand Prix, F5 Grand Prix and the Bucket Sidecar Grand Prix.

The GP is a national title so to compete in this race you need the full national licence.
For those without the full licence (or who require Day licencesí) we will be running a non GP class so there will be just as much racing!
In the program we will call the non GP class FT for Formula Tokoroa.

    Saturday

    9.30am Entry and sign on
    11am Riders briefing

Practice sessions by grade. F4, F5, FT and sidecars, not necessarily in that order. These will be used to make sure all the transponders are working and possibly to set grids.

Fun races in all the classes, last race for the day will be the sidecar GP or GP length race if we don't get enough entries.

    Sunday

Practice, possibly qualifying then F5, FT, F4 races in that order

    F5 GP 30 laps
    FT 30 or 40 laps
    F4 40 laps

    Shake hands, go home.

    Entry fees

    $40 for the weekend
$20 transponder hire if you don't have your own
$20 day licence if you need one for the non GP classes.

Camping will be available at the track on Friday and Saturday nights (no extra charge). No pre entry necessary, if you wish to only attend one day this is fine, contact one of our committee members, details on amcc.org.nz/buckets

Happy to answer any questions here or flick me a PM.
