This trader must be pretty hard to outdo as far as optimism goes. Bike has been on the market for a year now, wonder when the penny will drop he''s dreaming at that price. You'd have thought after a year he might have got round to the little bit of tlc required to get running. ...

  • Kiwi Biker upgrade to vB4 Suite.

Over 6 hours. That's gotta be the longest an upgrade has taken.

This upgrade is a work in progress, as there is still much to do. I have modified the code for my Trader, Calendar, Event Attendance, Image Browser & Censor mods to work with the new software, but have still to do the following:

    Quote Notification
    avatar/profile pic censoring
    Profile Rep Stats
    Fallen Bikers page
    JavaChat Integration
Force Style for Selected Users or Groups
    PM Reply to all
    Flame Warrior

    Mods awaiting an update
    Advanced Forum Statistics
    Social Group Calendars
    v3 Arcade
    vBTubePRO
    KB Spy
    Wiki single login

The old Dark Zone style is not compatible with the new version. As soon as I find a dark style I like, I will add it to the site.

All your images from Blogs, Social Groups, Albums and Posts are now in a central pool which is controlled via an enhanced attachment uploading window. You may need to enable it your settings.

Image censoring has also changed. Now all iffy images need to be in a folder called "pr0n". You can have as many pr0n folders as you like anywhere in the folder tree. Again you may need to enable enhanced attachment uploading in your settings. So yes, you will now need to go through all your images and drag & drop all the naughty ones into a pr0n folder.

Until I've sorted the Wiki single login, you will need to login to the Wiki seperatly using your KB login name. New Wiki accounts have also been disabled. If you have content to add to the Wiki and don't have a login, let me know.

It will be several weeks before I've finished coding and sorting the new look.

Anything not working as it should, let me know here.

+1. Working fine for me (with pictures turned on). Also using V3.5.6. Try the old "clear cookies, cache" etc standard support options.

+1 seems like a lot of time and effort which can only ever result in an increasing data usage/server load....

if this site is 900kb per page it's no wonder it's nearly unusable on slow connections (like the student wifi at uni and the 64k I usually have for the last days of the month....)

So that's three seperate sources I have giving me similar numbers.

Any chance your phone is set to not download the graphics? Or any chance you are using one of the content transformation APNs? I think the APN www.vodafone.net.nz with downsample the graphic files, and remove un-needed characters from web pages.
All graphics are showing up. Not too sure about these APNs you refer too. Access point (if that is what you mean) I use is vodafone internet, not gateway or any others. Obviously something is downsizing everything, however the page looks exactly the same as when I look at it on a computer. Don't know why you would need full sized images etc on a phone display so current setting works fine for all my internet needs.

I would be happier if I could get it to downsize. If you go into "vodafone internet" it should have the name of the "access point" you connect to. It's like to be www.vodafone.net.nz or internet.

I wonder perhaps if you phone being newer has software that works better with the Vodafone content transformation device than my phone. Eitherway, a specialist PDA style would be the best solution ...

You guys think you've got problems? I've got a new computer, a different operating system, and almost entirely unfamiliar software. There is a manual, but it's thicker than the Tokyo whitepages and could give me a hernia just picking it up.

There's also a new wireless broadband connection to master.

A new look KB is the least of my worries...

      For the record, I like!

Shit Spank, are you sick of this place yet? Hope you are getting some sort of holiday time away soon. Not important but what does not seem to work as it used to is the new activity widget on the home page, yes it shows new activity, but it is stuck on a few threads. Bottom of the list priority I might add

I am liking this new improved KB, easy to navigate. Will give you a bit of a rest before I start asking the social group questions

But yeah, if you could allow a bit more space for the member info this would help a bit more as both the date, bikes and location on mine wrap to the next lines.
If you are twiddling widths, I'm inclined to thing that the popup for giving reputation could do with being wider. The text field currently scrolls after a couple of words.
