  • MAG-NZ Launches in New Zealand

    It is with great pleasure we announce the arrival of MAG-NZ to the biker scene in New Zealand. While our official launch date is October 3rd 2010 we have launched our website today and invite you to come in and find out a bit more about us.

    www.mag-nz.org

    Motorcycle Action Group of New Zealand (MAG-NZ) has been formed by bikers, for bikers and promises a new era of meaningful and purposeful representation for bikers in New Zealand.

    As the name suggests MAG-NZ is about Action.

    As an organisation we are committed to upholding bikers freedoms, and resisting imposed restrictions and laws which impede those freedoms.

    We will do so actively, we will not passively accept the eroding of our legal right to ride. MAG-NZ believes that bikers themselves understand, and are responsible for, the actions that are required to ensure their freedoms. We will not wait for others to do our job for us.

    MAG-NZ believes there are 3 levels of action required;

    • Personal;
    • Local;
    • National.

    As an organisation MAG-NZ is committed to all three.

    We also see the sense in belonging to an international group, committed to similar ideas. MAG-NZ has the support and backing of MAG-UK and will use the resources this affiliation brings to ensure we achieve our goals.

    So, do not ask what MAG-NZ can do for you, rather, what can you do for your fellow bikers?

    Membership of MAG-NZ is open to anyone regardless of what they ride. You don't even have to be a motorcycle owner - if you simply have "an interest" in motorcycles or things motorcycling we welcome your membership.

      Thats right, MAG has active groups in both Auckland (which is the national HQ) and Christchurch. There will be other regional groups as we go forward, but we're launching with these regions.

      The Canterbury launch has not been affected by the quake - although MAG-NZ has every sympathy for everyone in the Christchurch region affected by this tragedy.

      There are some great events planned - so get yourself down to the assembly points on 3rd October. If you need any further info, feel free to post here, PM any KB'er with a MAG logo or flick us an email on info@mag-nz.org - you can also contact us via Facebook or Twitter (twitter.com/MAG-NZ)

      Honestly? Have not even thought about it yet. But what a really good idea.
      We dont do behind closed doors, at all. Totally transparent us. I am reading between the lines a little bit here, but is CNI anywhere near Taupo? If it is please come and join us for our NZ Spinal Trust fundraiser weekend 5/6 November. We are having a committee meeting on the 5th (evening) so you can "see" how we operate. The weekend is dedicated to raising money for NZ Spinal Trust (our chosen charity) and fun and frivolity. Brain picking of executive is encouraged.

      Hang fire while I find you a link to follow.

      We are all staying here though http://www.taupoallseasons.co.nz/

      mention MAG-NZ, we are trying hard to get a discount for people staying, failing that a donation to our charity

      Yup, Tokoroa, would love to join in, but am working all weekend, which while some may berate me for considering a higher priority, I'd be only too happy to join a mid-week ride.

      I have looked at the itinerary, and can most likely join up on the Friday arvo.

      What time do you plan arriving Taupo, and are you planning on just SH1-ing it?

      Cool bananas! We are leaving BP Papakura at 11amish, and will be heading directly down the boring route. I have my son riding with me and it will be his first big ride, so I am sticking to that route. We wont be rushing. Be fantastic if you could join us from Tok to taupo, not that far to head home either if you decide to stay the night Friday night Flick me a PM with your contact details, take the day off November 5th, and we will pick you up enroute to Taupo.

      Don't need the day off for Fri, will have the arvo/evening free.

      Will flick the itinerary to a guy who organises rides locally, maybe get a few more along.

      A lot of the guys at work that ride are on the same roster as me, but there'll still be a few available I'm sure.
