A wee ride to some parts of my backyard I haven't got around to yet!

Well up at the crack of sparrow's fart and due to the late natter I had with the redoubtable gremlin (1.30am :slap
I was meant to be up at 6am, but got out around 8am ... rode around the back blocks of Papakura to get to some roads I haven't been down ... basically any road I hadn't yet managed to go down I followed!
Usual goat tracks with gravel galore on apex lines, but usual NZ stuff. Got somehow from the Hunuas to the back of SH22 and decided to take a look around Onewhero (where Mr Merde resides and I have yet to visit!)
Lovely roads out there and I decided to follow the main road right out to the high country farms ... gravel and lots more gravel! The Big Ol'Hornet and I took our time and meandered around the various farms, breath taking vistas and panoramas of what NZ hill country is known for.
I think the couple of cow cockies who saw me must have thought I was mad taking my bike around them!
Travelling for 15kays in and over and around and about the gravel hills of Onewhero, I was stuck between keeping my bike on track and digesting in the vistas that unfolded.
Farms and for sale signs told their own little sagas ...
Eventually I had to stop and turn around, loose cattle on the gravel roads around blind bends can send even a red camo ninja packing!
The return trip was remarkably faster and onto the sealed roads which then became normal roads passed by. Great view to the bridge and river ... just wished I remembered to bring my camera along to capture the day! (will try and do this since I always end up in random places)
Back home, picked up Maverick and pillioned him to my place so he could borrow Betsy (RZ350) since he lost his cage to a truck and had the company of zeocen who managed to somehow get himself organised for bike riding.
Ah well, lovely day for a ride - just wished I could have done more!
