Well, this day finds me early at school to sort out the detritus from this years student body. The robust representation of their work is all boxed up, bagged and thrown into a dark, dusty corner.

Oh, if only it was Hogwarts, then I could toss the students to Cerebus the three headed hell dog.

After completing my rounds, I chirpled home to change into my usual red camo ninja pajamas and refueled the beasty. All roads beckoned, the day plentiful in vast dollops of splendid sinshine.

With no place to go, no destination in mind, nor any commitment to keep (until 4pm where I must be assisting my dear mater with the toil and bustle of a Chinese takeaway shop) I headed off to the hills, a green line of corners awaiting my tyres and my presence!

The Big Ol'Hornet purred his heart out, flicking in and out of the countryside, around corners, through sweepers, down straights much like its name sake implies ... through the Hunuas we progressed, sampling the delights and freedom with no other traffic on the road. Of course, I did this via the Old Ardmore Quarry road, its other moniker "the goat track", nice and twisty with the usual sprinkling of gravel. All part and parcel of riding the roads in our fair lands.

Eventually the end of the Hunuas appeared and I find myself heading out to Mercer, with a destination forming in mind to wind my merry way to Port Waikato. The winsome nature of that hinterland always is a pleasure to behold, it is full of the costal road riding that sprinkles NZ for much of the Queen's chain, and long may it reign so!

Mayhap at the end, ruminating from the lookout towards the mighty turmoil as foam breaks upon the shore, I wonder where else I might ride and see such glorious sights.

But alas, like all good things, I must with some regret leave and find my way back to some vittles to revitalise my body and plan anew for the Hornet Swarm Ride tonight.

Hmmm, ice cream will have to figure highly in that equation!
