Getting to Grips with the Czech Republic

We've been struggling a bit to get out on the bike. It seems to be harder to find time and good weather here than back home, but at least we're mobile and having fun when weather and work permits. We did a short run today - maybe around 200km's of the Czech Republics dodgy roads (funny to rip round a corner to have to dodge an open hole (winter was a bitch here and the ice has done loads of damage this year).

Its feeling great, being back in the seat after 18 months of winters (winter in the northern hemisphere followed by several months in South America touring (sadly in a car) with a return back to the start of northern hemisphere winter in Prague). 18 months is a long time, poor planning eh. It has been odd to adjust (Driving on the wrong side of the road was only a small thing), road quality was a bit bigger and the unusual road markings and signage was the most complex. Traffic here is really bad - not heavy like the Nor Western Motorway type bad, but badly behaved, no respect for anyone else on the road - yes people will let you in from an intersection, but the next person will push you away (literally). It pays to Speed, a Skoda Octavia right up your ass (cm away) at 130km/h is not a lot of fun. Regardless, the Cameraderie here is amazing, seems like theres no distinction between cruisers, sport bike riders or patched gang members, everyone waves (or shakes their foot), the brotherhood (or sisterhood?) of motorcyclists is alive and well.

Anyway, the lack of riding weather has meant that I've been able to get lots of things organised ready to head away at the end of May - finding boxes for the Busa was much easier than expected and not only lighter, also lighter on the wallet. Can't wait to get some use out of them.

Planning on heading away in a few weeks as a bit of a trial run, not sure whether Italy, Austria, Or Germany, kind of have it in my head to go and see Hitler's Eagle's nest, will just have to see how it goes - next long weekend and we will go somewhere for sure.
