Time for an update me thinks...
Yes, the project is still going.
The engine is rebuilt and fully mounted.
Chambers are connected just require the rear hangers to be completed.
Carbs are ready.
Reeds are coming.
Fuel tap has been located.
Sprockets are ordered and ready to pick up.
Some bodywork has been found - missing a small piece from the tail fairing and a top fairing.
That's the good news.
Now the issues I'm working on:
Rear sprocket carrier needs a spacer or I need a replacement standard sprocket carrier.
The ignition system: I started down the hard path of trying to fit a full RGV250 VJ21 ignition system. The flywheel tapers don't match, nor do the stator etc.
By chance, while calling contacts for a RD400 crankend to measure the taper, I was told that the RD-LC flywheel fits the RD400 crank.
I dug through the box marked 'LC stuff' and found a complete ignition system, flywheel, stator etc. It fits like factory. Now all there is to do is modify the Hall Effect sensors triggers on the flywheel to suit the RGV CDI and make up the mounts for the Hall Effect triggers then patch the two systems together.

Right hand calliper and disc,
Sprocket carrier.
