Does anyone have a good idea of how many k's I should be getting out of a tank of 95octane? I am just running a DR-Z 250 on the road - tank size 10.5litre. I've been filling up at around 200km just to be safe but was wondering how much more I should have left in it.
Have a read of this and perhaps follow a link to get more information. http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/suz...z_250_2005.php Take your mileage and fill your tank. Then ride it until it starts starving for fuel, check the mileage again and switch to reserve. Allow another 20ks on reserve and hey presto you have your fuel range.
cheers Mom! didn't know you cared ( or were a bike fan!) Absolutely pissed off this morning - but will probably serve me right for not checking! Bike is at good mechanics this morning for him to check, after following "Mom"s advice: 222km on clock, 3 k's outside Waikanae this morning - no warning, bike stops. switched to reserve - no start. check shows reserve was empty - my fault for getting "another mechanic" to service it - he said he'd drained all fuel, but also said he'd replaced - Reserve did not work! anyway - have found that main tank will give me 220km, so one problem solved. (3km feels a long way at 5.40am at side of SH1!)
