I've taken engine and new top end down to a local engine reconditioners, who after laughing hysterically at the size of the engine agreed to "give-it-a-go to make up a couple of brass bushes for the gudgeon pin and replace the replace the rods that the head and cylinder are bolted down with. The CBR125 rods are to long by about 21/2 cms. Apart from that it should all be good.
So more money to be spent then I hope it's all done and I will have a kicking little bucket. Currently I am hoping to use the endurance race on the 28 November to run the engine in and then letting rip at Taupo. I finished 21st in last race last year and want to improve on that.
After Kaitoke I'll take the bike to be Dyno'd and see what we can get out of it. I'm suprised at the interest I have had from overseas with what I am doing have done as I don't think anyone has gone down the same path as me.
With the new KING OF KAITOKE competition running next year, depending which grade I am in will give me a decent chance of winning
