What a rush Taupo Road racing Spectacular was this year. Managed to inprove from my 24th finish last year to 17th. Reduced my lap times (in the dry) from 1 min 44 sec laps to 1.33 laps on the first day. The second day was wet so it was wets for those who had them, which for a lot of us was the first time we had raced on them. My second day times went from plus 2 min to 1.49, much to my delight. And what battles were had with the field breaking into groups of 4-6 bikes fighting it out. I'm also starting to get a good idea of the AFR the bike needs to run well, which I will continue to develop as time goes on. It's overheating issues seemed to have stopped, which is great.

The other side for me was I got my racing groove back. This year has been very hard with changing from 2 to 4 stroke, Setting up a bike (to my knowledge) that hasn't been done before, running last in my grade and when I did start to feel it again crashing and completely losing it all again. It was an amazing feeling to feel the excitement, terror and jubilation of finishing well. I'm dropping back to Grade B so with any luck I'll be able to continue this form through out the year including winning King of Kaitoke.
