THe long road to recovery becomes a short jump to success.

Last Sunday here in Wellington we had the 2nd round of King of Kaitoke. I got a two seconds and a fourth (a bolt in my gear change mechanism broke leaving me stuck in fourth gear).

it was nice to do well but feel a bit bruised and battered from some of the comments people are making about lines and passing. The hard part in all of it is I really have no clue when it comes to the lines one should take. I lost a lot of confidence last year where I was totally out classed by the other Grade A riders and when I have asked in the past how my lines were I usually got told they were good. Now it seems those same lines i have been taking aren't. I don't know if it's because I'm passing more people now that I'm on a faster bike or my lines have deteriorated. I must be doing right as my lap times are still consisting getting quicker each meet (I'm getting close to the magical 45 sec)

I really hope someone responds to my request for help.

I am trying. When I'm out racing and I'm trying to catch a bike I do try to pass in a safe, smooth and carefully as i can, but if there is an opportunity to pass I loathed not to take it as I might not get the same opportunity again. Losing the chance to keep up/pass the bike I'm chasing.

Another part of me is yelling this is a race and not a commute so if someone passes you and they haven't knocked you off your bike, get over it, go faster, pass them back and stop being a pussy about it all.
