Disaster!

Friday afternoon, big photography day. Need to document a school ball.
On scooter down to the town hall, camera and flash unit stashed under the seat. Get the images and back to work. Off the scooter, camera slung around neck and pop the flash unit into the helmet to carry it inside. You guessed it! Flip the helmet up to pop it on the shelf. Out falls the flash unit. #!@%&!!!
No, it won't power up. Biggest day of the year. Hundreds of casual photos to take of teenagers on their big night!
At home I rumage about and find a tiny flash unit I haven't used for about 10 years. Pop in some batteries and low and behold I blind myself!
Still, modern digital SLR, won't work? It did! It did! My worthless motorcycling skin is saved!
Covered the night easily, some shots overexposed. Used black and white images projected onto a wall as part of the ball decorations.
Still have a broken flash unit and a not very suitable one.
What to do? I used my flash ten times last week! I need it.
Off to Dunners in the slab sided dry thing of Mary's on Sat, and I'm $700 odd bucks poorer, goodbye new helmet!
But I can now take cool pics of anything from 15cm to 20m.
Watch out, here I come. I'm the one wearing a flash unit on my head!![]()
