NOW stupid, not NWO

More ramblings, heh...

NOW is a "guide" for change. NOW is the New Ordered World. Suitably ironic?

The current Government, and Governments past, have had access to every resource they require to "run" New Zealand and I believe that they do not get the maximum value from those resources in any way shape or form.

In order to be financially competitive around the globe New Zealand must make the maximum use of all of its resources.

To get the ball rolling I will outline the basics of a society that will address ALL of the big societal issues, something that has NEVER been and never will be accomplished any by Government in our lifetimes or for the foreseeable future for that matter.

The primary aim of NOW is to create a viable roadmap towards a society that will be voted for by the New Zealand public. This society will have to be able to compete in the global marketplace without sacrificing its people and their liberties.

The core of NOW is that it works on the basis that New Zealand is a free country. Primarily financial, but also socially to a large degree.

A new way of thinking?

Well not really. The basic premise of NOW is not new at all, but it has not been implemented in western society for millenia, let alone any modern western society. Why not? The answer is simple: The financial system keeps getting in the way.

How does the free country work?

  • A single entity manages the day to day global financial "obligations" of the country. A form of bank.
  • Every New Zealand resource that is used in New Zealand will be free of charge. This includes wo/manpower.
  • Government is there to deal with the "outside" world, provide life support to New Zealanders and to provide logistic services in regards to managing resources and the working pool.

There you have it. Pretty simple. Ok so there's a lot of bells and whistles required, but if you know what needs to be done then you can add them.

What isn't free?

Imports and Exports. Can the Imports and Exports of New Zealand be balanced in financial terms? or even produce a surplus?

Without knowing how much we spend on Imports and Exports, in theory, yes, we should be able to balance the books or produce a surplus.

Imports and Exports can be balanced? Seems like a bit of a bold statement eh? Please consider the following:

How much of an Imported product, by the time it reaches our shores to the time is reaches the shelves, is markup? "Overheads": Base price + Tax, GST, Port charges, Freight, sundry expenses etc... A large chunk of a products price is "overheads". These are costs that can be removed because we are a free country. The goods will be landed for the cost price, costing nothing more than the purchase and shipping to NZ prices. The goods will not be subject to Tax, GST, Port Charges, Frieght costs etc... because our local resources are free. That makes imported goods very cheap.

How much of an Exported product's price, by the time it leaves the country, is markup? If we are a free local economy and we have no "Overheads" and the global market dictates the value of our exports, then the overseas purchase price of our goods will not drop unless we choose to sell them a little cheaper.

Would the two balance? I have a feeling that they might and we might even have a surplus. Add to that tourist revenues and revenues from overseas countries that will pay to use our free workforce and we should be able to generate enough money so that the country will be able to buy "stuff".

What are the side effects of a free New Zealand?

  • Massive unemployment.
  • Less luxury goods (depending on how much the country "earns")
  • No budget constraint.
  • Equity.
  • The erradication of Poverty.
  • Environmental consideration.
  • Free Education.
  • Free Healthcare.
  • A HUGE drop in Crime.
  • The potential for everyone to be anything they want to be.
  • Sensible laws.
  • Financial stability.
  • No need for prostitution.
  • No need for teens to get pregnant to get a house and earn money off the state.
  • Green technologies would become affordable.
  • Infrastructure would become affordable.
  • Probably a few more negatives, but there will likely be many many more positives. T'would seem like a fair trade for ditching money?

There are 3 main issues that we will be trying to avoid:

How well prepared we are for Disasters and the inevitable recovery?

In financial terms we're not. Pretty simple really. We react due to natural disaster, our skill base is too wide spread and it'll cost too much money for us to be prepared. With so many people unprepared there's going to be a lot of people in need should the emergency services become stretched. We'll not get into the insurance nightmare, layoffs, forced house sales etc... To a degree this was proven by the Christchurch quakes. We're not trained in any basics, primarily because it costs too much money, and we don't have the money to start rebuilding straight away.

Without the money? Could/Would you train the massive number of unemployed to be part of a civil response team? Could you train them as architects, engineers, builders etc...? Without the problem of money, or lack of, in the way, you just need a plan and then you go ahead and implement it. I see no real show stopper in regards to rebuilding if all of our resources are free. If you can highlight some, I'd appreciate it (can't mitigate what ya don't know )

How protected are we against Global Recession?

We're not, noone is, not even the US. It's utterly stupid. I won't get into the banking system cash out of thin air thing as it's pretty obvious

to anyone with a brain cell that Aliens aren't lending us money, it comes from nowhere. Anyways, all this running around, selling off assets, selling land, unemploying people only to have to pay for them with an ever dwindling tax pot, whilst the brains of the country figure out the best way to get the economy growing so that we can all breath a sigh of relief and rejoice in wonderment that we have another 20 years until the next crash blah blah blah... in short, heh, no, we're not protected against recession where money touches each and everyone of us.

Without the money? As long as you can afford your imports, the free local economy won't even notice that there has been a recession.

How protected are we against the collapse of the financial system?

Where money is a concern society will melt down. There would be panic and most likely bloodshed. We would be slow to react to any form of societal change... financial collapse WILL happen, perhaps not in our lifetime, but I doubt it's too far away. Imports and exports will be halted whilst the world sorts its shit out. We would have no choice but to wait for the global green light and in a very unstable social environment.

Without money. Well we wouldn't notice it anywhere near as much as with money... imports and exports will be halted whilst the world sorts its shit out. We could wait that out in a stable social environment.

Pretty simple really, yet so disappointing that the brainiacs haven't figured out a way to mitigate the severe negative impacts of the rest of the worlds antics or from mother nature that threaten New Zealand and its population.

NOW can lead the world in change. Build it and the world will follow.

What would happen to your "industry" under NOW?

That's NOW stupid, not NWO!

Sounds a bit like Socialism to me, and I can't figure out how all that will remove a need for prostitution.

There are elements of Socialism, Communism, Capitalism and pretty much any other ism that's out there, but the idea is more one of social conscience in that things need to get done and as you're not receiving a financial award for it, you're doing it because it helps others out... in return others do things that help you out. For instance a Doctor and a Bin Man all need to eat, drink, have the rubbish cleared, drive etc... and it takes a whole raft of people doing all sorts of jobs for that to happen. If neither can eat, they both die, if the sewerage is not dealt with they'll probably die etc... so whose job is more important? the Doctor? The Bin Man? or the thousands and thousands of people who produce the goods (food, water, sewage treatment etc...) that The Doctor or Bin Man rely on to be Doctors and Bin Men. The idea that we value either over those who keep them alive is insane. Not enough people understand that concept. If they did there'd be no need to label the society in which you're living. Waffle waffle yadda yadda, Essentially though, people will do jobs because they have to. We currently do this for money and it makes one fuck load of a mess of everything. Remove it from the local economy entirely and treat everyone's job as important as everyone else's and we may be in with shout of addressing the BIG issues in New Zealand.

With no money, free food, water, housing etc... available, why would anyone need to prostitute themselves? There may be some who enjoy it, but I'm guessing they're few and far between and the rest are just earning a living? Perhaps I need a field trip
