The movie “As Good At It Gets” starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt centres on a guy with an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I have presented two clips here and depending on how you see a glass as either half full or half empty, each clip presents the lead character in various states
Self Centred:

Recognising false logic, and moving on:

I will address both these characteristics as I saw them in myself through 2006 – 2008:
Nicholson in the movie 'As Good As It Gets' in character demonstrates the ritualistic traits of OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. With OCPD - Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder the ritual aspect, in my case is not intense, and over time has improved. The personality aspects, as best as explained to me and as I understand them are difficult to express, however it is important to look at the 'corrective techniques'. Cognitive Behaviour Technique in my case - particularly during the first two years of riding kicked in big time and enabled me to 'stop, look, listen, and question my actions and reactions to innumerable events/activities. I could see the glass as only half empty and not half full. Whereas I could see a true gaining of skills when learning to ride, I could also see a lot of false logic in my own actions, reactions, and judgements particularly of others and their riding. False logic in the sense that that was a protection mechanism - bottomline is I can't control someone else's actions no matter how they ride. So like in the movie, I look on 'the bright side of life', and accept that I can only control my own actions particularly when riding a motorcycle.
