Philip's Ravings

I've been riding 250cc bikes for a while now (5 to 10 years) with a break in between while I had a family with the wife (who didn't like me riding). I should say former wife, and with that problem gone, I'm fully back into riding again.

This year I finally decided to move up to a 600CC bike. OMG, what a difference. My CBR250RR was fun, but the CBR600 is incredible by comparison.

For some reason I lost a lot of confidence in my riding abilities when I moved up a bike size. I've done an AMCC Advanced Rider Training day now, and that helped a lot, and finally I'm starting to ride more like how I used to.

I ride about 2 to 3 times a week, although I do tend to leave the bike at home when the weather is real bad. Getting in all the riding hours has been real great.

I have to say I have had to put the linings back into my riding gear this week (11/may/2009), as it was getting just too cold (especially at night when it was raining!).

Got a ride planned this Saturday (16/5/2009) with some friends, and on Sunday I'm going for a ride with the AMCC.


On the plus side, the latest girlfriend loves motorcycles. Lucky for her (as I explained to her, it goes mates, bikes, and then girls in the priority list).
