After a full days work at awayatcs the drive belt is on. Long day but went pretty well really. Will try and describe but I don't have manual in front of me and I'm not very technical so bear with me. First off primary cover came off - all good. Then had to undo the big nut at the front. Awayatc had made the tool to stop the sprockets moving following the harley specs. Nut was on so tight that it bent the tool. He improvised with some bits out of the socket set and with an almighty effort got it undone. Next starter had to come out. Had been having problems with that so got it checked while it was out. One of contacts worn. Being replaced so starting problems solved. Next took rear wheel off. Awayatc discovered wheel bearings were buggered. Replaced them. Had to take off bracket for exhaust pipes and shocks on left side. Then put new belt on. No drama there. Rear wheel back on. Awesome. Tomorrow starter motor back in, primary cover back on and all done. Huge thanks to awayatc for saving me megabucks at the bikeshop and also for an awesome learning experience. He did all the work really.
