Just looking at options for insurance on the recently purchased BFPT compliant bike, 1985 so that's right for classic cover ? Who do you guys insure through ? Any particular outfit to avoid ? I currently have all my insurance through State and always generally found them ok but is anyone better for classic cover ?
Thru the VCC you could get it fully comp for about $125, but you need to be a member, I hear Swann is good.

My bikes are insured as classics with Swann through Kiwibike motorcycle insurance.
