    FZR250 loss of power

So I'm riding home last night and I start to notice a loss of power on the ole FZR. then it gets worse and is coupled with a low pitched drowning noise from the exhaust as i apply more throttle. more throttle = louder drone. It kind of felt like it was only running on 3 cylinders. but it idles perfectly and I checked and it's definately running on all 4 (at idle at least). anyone got any ideas on things I could try??

any help would be much appreciated

check your exup cables are working.
RSV Mille: No madam, its an Aprilia, not a Harley. If it were a Harley, I would be pushing it !

start with the simple stuff. Check your exup cables as already suggested. Then check the inline fuel filter, if you have one, may be blocked, if it doesnthave one, or if it does and its fine, get your carbs cleaned (balance em while your at it)

After that it gets a little more difficult. I had similar issues on my FZR (at 40,000km) and after pulling it apart found that the valve seats were getting heavily clogged with carbon, preventing them from sealing, it quickly lead to the bike not going at all (hence pulling it apart).

But start with the easy stuff, fuel filter and exup cables you can check your self. If you know your way around carbs, you can ull them apart and clean them yourself.

Couldnt hurt to check your plugs as well come to think of it..
