GPS unit - like a navman

Ok I’ve got a GPS navigator from China. I’ve been testing it for the last few weeks and I’m pretty happy with it. I’ve not had any issues with it so thought I’d see if any of you guys are interested in a group buy.

    Specs are

    4.3 inch touch screen
    Windows CE 5.0
    400mz CPU
    64m RAM
Blue tooth (for hands free calls on your cell)
2.4g wireless camera receiver (for reversing camera)
    SD card (up to 4gb)’
    FM transmitter

Because its CE 5.0, you can run excel, power point and word viewer.

Also comes with a media player inbuilt that is pretty cool. You can play Divx etc and MP3’s. If you turn the transmitter on, it will play your movie over your car speakers. Or the Navigation program will play over your car speakers. No reason why you couldn’t use it with a motorbike If you made a housing for it and use a radio to listen to the directions.

I’m running iGo Amigo on it for mapping which works very well. My only issue is you have to be very specific on the suburb when you enter an address. I can run TOMTOM on it, but I’ve got to figure out how to load it.

    So I prices are

    GPS unit - $250 inc a 2GB SD card.
    Camera - $60

The camera has little guides so you can judge how close you are to things. The only annoying thing I found with a camera, if someone is using a wireless camera on the same channel it will flick onto that camera. Happened to me when I drove past my local bakery! Haha!

Let me know if you are keen and I’ll organise a group buy.

How good is the touch screen with gloves? And what's the battery life, power options like?

    Eh? Tomtom is Linux-based.

Sorry I've been away. It's not water proof, but you could house it.

Got tomtom software working, but not the maps yet. Amigo is pretty good though.
