Dunno if this is feasible at your work but in the freezing works' workshop we had rubber mats in front of the workbenches and lathe so the spots where you stood still most of the time were easier on the feet.
The John Bull factory shop used to be in Henderson and had cheap cosmetic seconds. A workmate swore by them, and they were well cheap. I used to have a pair of John Bull "Trucker" boots - nice and high with lots of ankle support for riding the bike to work. The accounts person spewed when the bill arrived, but since I didn't get a boot allowance and they had to provide safety gear...
