Well of course there are used GT250R forks for africa here in NZ, but thats no use to you.
Even importing them direct from Korea is going to be around US$800 plus freight.
I cannot see why you could not swap other forks onto it. The distance and angle from the axle to the triple tree must be as close as you can get it. You don't need any less trail, as the steering is twitchy enough on this bike as it is.
I would transplant the whole lower front - forks, brakes, wheel, etc.
