Well Chief with motorbike glove, throttle grip in pocket, border collie partner in crime headed for ground zero on foot, buggered if i could find it, even stopped showed the photo on my phone to a hobbo reeking of piss, landlord that lived in area for years - hostel owner chatting to him.

Ground zero to me was the 911 memorial kilmore/madras corner.

Latimer square far as could go.

Come across this sobering reminder on madras - temporary art/memorial for 178 lost lives

I think D's idea of ground zero is the name of the fault that started it all, although it's a bit more than 500m from the epicentre of the Sept 4 quake to the old Greendale store.

Good one uncle... and whats with the new bike?

500m from the start line of the sept 10 quake. The epi center (GZ a 300mm wide crack estermated at 3km deep) some show it 10km further north, but oddly there is no sign of it there.
Heres a photo (which was going to be the next clue) of the store last used as a nursary after sept 10.

Everything I found pointed to just by charing cross...

Anyway, onwards and north-eastwards, not the best photo as it was getting dark but we'll see how we go...

Pretty much a place for the boys, complete with special rooms where they can indulge their fantasies. You'd be lucky to find any girls there though, they're more likely to be across the road....

    Cheers, good find.

So the coach hobbled along from courtney to greendale to sheffield to the coast ? No wonder it took them so long

Yeah lots of new parks springing up too

Kool pic of telegraph road - so no longer the longest straight in NZ ? (Well use to be the rumour)
