hmmm shit, considering I can look up from this puter and see the selwyn river (be it a bit further inland) I cant place the hall on the main drag dunsandle maybe other wise southbridge way but then I doubt Jakel passed it.
I am riding a V2 630 husky all day but it has 4 wheels and twin rotor spinning under it... tomorow I might get a chance to look.

As T.W.R. said, not so much the main drag, more the secondary way from Rakaia to ChCh.

I'd go and get it this morning but other duties take priority It's simple as think "forest" though I'm wondering how mushu got across the lake outlet...and lol it's a good 12km from the beach frontage at Taumutu to the tag site

If you grab a set of water wings off one of the boys and jump in the river behind home, float downstream a couple of hours and when you hit the second bridge walk south a couple of clicks. We will be driving pass again today either to or from the city, as we normally do the circuit for a change of scenery, if we see you I'll give you a lift home!!!

I was able to ride all the way across, there was no lake outlet, then picked up the tag on the way back to town, the tag is 22km from the bend in Gullivers Rd where I got off the beach. The hall from the tag is visible on street view shouldn't take too long to track it down that way

It wasn't that long ago that they had to open up the lake after the flooding around Motukarara & Ataahua; suppose the southerly swells must have filled it again pretty quickly (was on the news showing the excavators digging it out). I know where you got onto the tarseal again used to do a lot of night fishing at Harts Creek. The lay-by is probably getting a few confused to locating the tag.....irrr ooh welll

Just in... FARK MAN ok so the boys dont have no water wings (I hiff the wee shits straight in the pool no aids) so used a couple a balloons duct taped to me arms (next time remind me to blow em up 1st) belley flopped into the 'ashburton river' (well its the river behind you) 2hrs had me pass no bridges and all I could see was... the sea and horizon.
At this point I was thinking I shoulda not listened to ya cos there is and never has been any bloody hall 12mile out, thank christ Willy was passing by and hooked me on to his dorsel, thing is the prick wasent headed to Lyeltton but south bay KAIKOURA.
so.. as I left my wallet at home I had to tumb a lift, because the only jackal on a breva I seen flipped me the birdie and speed off... so I had to accept a ride of a fat fuker of a truckie that stunk to high heaven and kept winking at me... that brings me to JUST IN

so I am no closser to finding that damn HALL
    cheers DD

Ir... well (clue), surely if you go back and read there are more than enough clues it should be easy to find now. As I said, it's visible on street view.

So you mean you didn't get washed down the river, wind up in Kaikora and have to hitch hike back with a dodgy truck driver? I'm disappointed....
