As you prob already know from my last report this round was a double header with it effectively being 2 rounds in one, part a and part b. I finished 5th overall for part a

I qualified for sundays races in 7th which i preferred as the grid seemed to be backwards in my opinion.

Race 1.

The racing over here is a lot closer and very aggressive, i got shuffled back a bit at the start and pretty much rode the entire race in 9th place, i made a few dives under brakes to make some passes but my bike was getting to the point where it was almost dangerous to ride and id get chucked out of the seat and get passed right back! I ended up finishing in 9th!

I was extremely frustrated with the lack of grip from the rear of the bike and i was about to chuck my toys cause i wanted to make changes to the spring rate but i didnt have that option so i decided to wind off all the preload off the shock and just try it as i had nothing to lose! I told Peter Fenton about my probs and as soon as he got a spare second he was over to measure up my bike to see what the issue was because the numbers just didnt add up... We re checked the sag and found after my adjustment of the preload it was spot on!! I was really frustrated because due to a small error in a simple equation i had been riding the bike with very little sag on a spring that was already a bit firm so it was just a complete handfull to ride.

Race 2,

A bit of a storm had just passed through and the track was partially wet but i had some new found confidence! I got off to an alright start and there was a fair bit of banging going on which slowed me down, i dropped back to the old 9th or 10th again but i got on the gas and started picking riders off with ez this time as i could actually accelerate out of the corners with a lot less slipping! I got through to 4th and was chasing down 3rd place but ran out of laps and i actually set my fastest lap time of the meeting on a semi wet track!!!

I managed to get 5th overall for the round and ive learnt so much from it from the close racing as well as controlling a bike when you have no grip.

A very big thanks to Eddie who came over and did an excellent job on the tools, Peter, Matt and Robbie who were all very helpfull and spent heaps of time helping me out and it was good to have them all on pit wall cheering me on

Great effort to make the effort and get over there and do it Choppa. Amazing how riding at this level establishes the next step in concentration and dedication required to find a set up in a pretty tight space of time aye.
