Sorry, thought we were only interested in hearing from racers.
My $0.02 Great idea indeed. You'd wanna be pretty choosy about who was chosen and how they were chosen though.

Vote David Bain for MNZ president
Its an intersting concept shaun - but as in politics - the majority dont always get their way (and for darned good reasons sometimes aye !)
Good basic idea though mate
Glen
I love the concept Shaun. I do wonder though if you are going to get hands held up to offer their services.
I'd put my hand up for F3 but I don't currently qualify as Im not THIS SEASON racing.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?

Hi Glen, I see your point but, disagree mate, politics.NO MATE, this our sport, and OUR road race commisioner would welcome the support I am 100% sure
And I am also confident that Jim Tuckerman and Paul Pav would see the sense in this as well, as it means a lot less hours for the New incoming commisioner, and IS a positive step forward.
The registered riders choose there person ( FROSTY THANKS) But you could forward your application/commitment to the Road race commitee, for your name to be put in the hat.
These peole NEED to be racers, or at least very experienced past racers, WHO understand OUR real world!
WHITETRASH, NO mate, RACERS only on the www.kiwibiker.co.nz site, to elimate wasting time reading recording key board hero shite
MARK PAV
Please comment mate, you know the game well, and do you think this could truly support our next commisioner and the future of the sport?

Shaun,
I agree that the concept of a riders representative would be useful if properly implemented and properly manned. The only problem here is that it is often difficult to get much agreement among riders due to the fact they are by their very nature very competitive individuals ,who also carry a lot of vested interests and sponsorship baggage often making agreement on anything beyond basic safety issues difficult. That said, anything that opens up the lines of communication cannot be a bad thing. It would help if there was a situation where the riders felt isolated from the commissioner. I can think of some riders that would be perfect for the job, and I can think of others who would probably be disastrous at it.......
Ive had a very busy last couple of days and was loathe to open this thread in case it was something that was going to play on my mind. Yes there are merits to dividing the responsibilities as long as there are no co-ordination dramas. But I disagree with the concept of ''racers only''. ( Unless Ive misread or missed something in my haste ) The industry, particularly the bike distributors need to always have a strong say as they put more money into the sport than anyone else. Without their support its little more than club racing.
Thats my immediate take, subject to thinking about it further.
Thanks Paul and Robert.
This idea, is ONLY to be able to keep the commisioner informed on what the riders want/think about the sport, in NO way am I suggesting that this group would be running the sport in any way, it is just a way of supplying the commisioner with idea's from each class.
This helps manage the man hours of the commisioner---- Like what Suzuki have done with helping teams with equiptment.
Honda helped us big time with Paul Stewart, how many people have called Paul during his normall working hours, how many have recieved replies during normall working hours? as I say, thanks Honda!
Mark P, I think that is a fair reply to your comments
Robert, re the industry
In my opinion the industry know best, they have serious marketing skills and network contacts, that know how to manage/build a professional buisness entity.
The importers allocate a rather large amount of finance on marketing of our/there racing, and the coverage that is recieved really is a poor ROI in my opinion. I would like to see the importers, allocate that money to a PROFESSIONAL manager of the road racing scene as a retainer to employ this person, and allow this person to take a % of out side finance obtained for the race scene---- Yes this is heading to the plan I presented 5 or so years ago, ( Which I still believe in)
The Importers need to Employ our next Road Race commisioner? This will give them a better ROI
More feed back please, and thanks guys.

Just to be clear in MY interpretation of the original post :
This is for NATIONAL LEVEL RACERS to be able to give the Road Race Commissioner feedback on what THEY require/desire to improve participation (or amount of pleasure ?) in competing in the NATIONALS ?
I assume that the "INDUSTRY" has its own lines of communication with MNZ and doesn't need representation through this channel. Obviously riders with sponsorship from the "industry" will be wanting to include things that will benefit the sponsor as well as the riders.
Sounds like a goer to me .![]()

acically YES mate

But I believe the Industry has not, and does not tell/advice MNZ how to run there company, just supports US with finance
