yeah buy a keyboard and mouse plug comp into 40+" lcd or plasma screen and away ya go!![]()
I play in the living room, reclined back in a leather couch feet up on the coffee table.
The sound is all around me, playing out of 7 speakers around the room, thumping bass from the sub.
The picture is stunning, especially when on the 120" wide screen.
I don't feel like I am just playing the game, I am in the game.
Do I miss sitting at a desk so I can use a keyboard and mouse, nope.
Getting back on topic .... can't wait for CoD 6
OK, now back onto the sub topic. I'm a desktop FPS player for 20 years. I bought an XBox last year and it's been bloody difficult getting to grips (excuse the pun) with using a controller for FPS gaming, but, I am getting there.
I have a PC that does all I need it to do for now, but she's an old AMD 2600 with DDR Ram and AGP graphics. It plays the games I enjoy at the moment, but I cannot justify upgrading it to play the latest games, for $400 the XBox plays the latest games. I can also just hire a game to see if I like it and don't have to worry about installing it and configuring the graphics etc.
The XBox also plays AVI movies and music streamed from my PC, so I don't have to incur the wrath of my wife putting my PC in the lounge.... just plug a ethernet cable into the router and network it.
Online gaming is where it's at for me. Finally, the thing I do like about XBox Live is that we are all on a level playing field. No dodgy 'enhancements' and suspicions of unproper game hacks. I get killed cause I suck, not cause someone saw me through the wall.
At the end of the day though it's your own choice. If you have tried both you can make your own mind up and arguing on the intrnet is retarded but still it's the KB way.
Rock on.
I have a gaming PC running the home theatre, A gaming PC in the second lounge with a 22" lCD, an Xbox 360 in the main lounge, and I keep a PSP on a shelf in the bathroom.
Pity I have gone off gaming.
Though I do enjoy a good book.
Edit- I forgot about the Laptop under my chair in the lounge and the Linux box mounted under the desk.
xbox's can't have upwards of 3tb of storage, in raid
No, I don't know how much it cost, and I don't really want to know either, its in the thousands...
(but it does have 4 cores, 8gb of ram etc etc yada yada)
Oh... and it doesn't start fires, die, etc![]()

Amateur... why am I seeing 320W PSU? You don't need dual PSU when you have a 850WI did use a good quality 550W, but that couldn't hack it when I went over 6 ish hdd.
Currently mine is a AMD 64 x2, 4gb of ram, and 4x 1tb and 2x 320gb hdd. Goddamn the Nvidia Mediashield is a piece of shit.
New system (Q9550, 8gb of DDR2-1066 et al) has been stolen for other duties in the office at the moment... Can't wait. Hope the 850W PSU is still ok with 8+ hdd... I have a 1.5tb lying around
edit: No wonder its hot... I'd look at replacing the CPU cooler...

Agreed, I was a hardcore PC Gamer, CS, UT, AA, RS, you name it I played. I then moved to Xbox 360 I wanted something a little more social.
Just got my Xbox back from RROD repair, will see how long it lasts lol. But I agree, once you get use to the controls its not better but certainly I love the big screen, Dolby Digital and the fact I am blobbed on the couch, rather than leaning over the keyboard, mouse in hand.
Maybe Im just older, lazier.
