I've bought a 2008 TLC 250cc Lifan ( a Chinese copy of the Yamaha virago).
This bike has so far travelled just 500 odd K's.106 k's since we got it, all done on the tarmac at Ardmore.
It's a mint little bike, goes extremely well considering it is not yet "run in" and is already reaching speeds of up to and including 120Km's p h on the motorway.
Bought this bike through trademe and am very happy with it and all that it is doing for my wife and her new found riding abilities.
Won't be long and she'll be on a slightly bigger bike and riding with me on rides all over NZ.Who knows perhaps a 450 Lifan.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
Yeah you can use your credit card to pay for trademe stuff. Though shouldn't you have the money for the bike before you spend it...
Welcome onboard KB anonbiker.![]()
Ive got a NEXA 150 4 sale, ($2600) ive had no problems with it good bike for learning on or town riding.
Welcome to the madness mate!! As people have said, instead of buying new, I'd buy a second hand Jappa of Trademe or similar. Just make sure you get it checked over by someone who knows bikes or a shop before you do the deal! You can get a lot of bike for 3K.
Good luck mate and whatever you do, ride safe!
I got a brand new yamaha Scorpio for $3000. It was a demonstartor with just 50 k's on it. The Scorpio is heaps better than the GN125 or 250. There are usually plenty of them on Trademe but try ringing round the Yamaha dealers and see if they have a demo for sale. Good luck
Buying a bike with a credit card???
